I read on http://www.mousesavers.com that some convention attenders can get less expensive park passes good after 2:00PM, and 2-3 day park hoppers. Are these only for conventions held AT WDW? I may be going to a conference at the Orange County Convention Center. Do I have a chance of getting tickets like this?

Yes. There after-2 passes are available and so are 2-5 day park hoppers with plus options. The after 2 passes do not allow hopping. The 2-5 day passes do allow hopping and have plus features (which for these passes are PI and DQ but not the water parks). The 4-5 day passes actually have 4 and 5 plus options respectively. The 2-3 day passes have 1. The passes are cheaper than normal park hoppers BUT - and this is the big catch - the passes EXPIRE 10 days after first use so you can't buy a pass and use remaining days on a later trip.

The number to order these tickets is (407) 566-5600 but I beleive you may need some sort of promotion code from your convention organizer as proof of attendance - these passes are not generally available. You might want to call the convention first but if they don't have any info you could try this number. I do not beleive that these tickets are limited to those staying at Disney resorts but not 100% sure.

My husband attends a conference every year in Orlando and his conference materials always offer passes like these. You will likely get info on that with your info for your seminar.

For us the convention passes were actually more money than regular park hoppers, but since the convention passes include PI and DQ I guess you can't really compare. We looked into them for our trip this May and we were told that the 4 day hopper is $206 and the 5 day hopper is $238, while the advance purchase prices for 4 and 5 day hoppers (with no plusses) were $204.48 and $231.11. Since you do you the PI and DQ admissions, the convention passes are a better deal, but for us it would be a waste since we'll have 3 infants (2 mos-9 mos) in our group so we won't be going to PI or DQ at all, and would therefore be paying for option we can't use. Additionally, since we're buying passes for 8 others, that $7 difference would quickly add up so we're going with the regular hoppers. So I would look into that and see if you plan on using the plusses or not, since the regular hoppers might be a better deal.

I just purchased a three-day park hopper plus pass through Alamo (alamo.com). The pass works exactly like any of the traditional park hopper passes - except it has only three days and one plus feature. The cost with shipping was approx. $172.
Any unused days/plus feature on the pass never expire - just like the regular park hopper passes.

Anyone can purchase the tickets - no special codes or convention status needed. The tickets are only available through Alamo - and you don't have to rent a car to be able to purchase them. Alamo is the official car rental company of Disney and as such offers this special. Go to their web site (look under "Hot Deals") or call 1-800-560-2397.

Good Luck!

15 Days until we "Party for the Senses" at Epcot!!! - I'm already drooling!

Thanks for the replies!

Does anyone know how much the after-2 passes cost? How about the 2-day hoppers?

Edit: Partially answering my own question: I called the # DavidNYC gave (407-566-5600.) The guy gave me the price of one and two day after-2 tickets ($42 and $75.) Unfortunately, my conference isn't listed in their system, so I may not be able to purchase them. I'm not sure if it would be worth it anyway, since I'd be in the conference until after 5 and then would have to drive to the parks.
