Convention tickets increasing in price!

I see someone asked upthread if they purchased convention tickets when do they expire...I’m going to a convention next month and was planning to bring my husband and daughter with me. But he may have to go in his own trip, and we won’t know until after the date they cut off our ticket sales (sept 7). So if I buy them tickets with my conference link can we use them at a later time or do they expire at the end of the conference?
