convention in jan

i read on another board that there will be a convention at UO in jan i believe week of jan 6th. does anyone know of such convention and will it impact the parks. i heard hard rock resort is already booked.

In general, convention attendees are at the convention during the day so it shouldn't impact park attendance. Convention groups will often rent sections or entire parks (depending on the size of the group) for their exclusive use after the parks have closed to the public. CityWalk also rents clubs (and occasionally the entire complex from Margaritaville to the Red Coconut) to convention groups during the early evening.

I was unable to get a room at HRH or PBH when I first tried for Jan 4-6.

I spoke with the reservation manager and she told me they were completely booked for the night of the 5th, she did tell me to keep checking back because even though the rooms are booked for a convention, sometimes some will become available.
Last week there were rooms available and I booked for the night of the 4th and 5th. I didn't look at PBH just HRH.

RPR was always available

Hopefully the convention won't impact on the attendance at the parks
