Is PP convenient if you are going to spend most of your time at DL (as opposed to CA)? I would really like to stay at GC, but the rates at PP are so much better. Is CG worth the extra $$$?
Also, we plan to go early Dec., can I assume the crowds will be sparse?
Any thoughts?

DW & I were at PP last month. It took us about 7-10 minutes to walk to DL Park from our room, depending on if we window shopped. It's a very pleasant walk through DD. We too wanted to stay at GC, but couldn't justify the extra $$$. We were very pleased with PP. Nice clean room, friendly staff. PP reminded us of the Swan/Dolphin at WDW as far as quality. We would definitely stay here again.

I found no greater convience to DL from PP than from the Harbor blvd motels. In fact after having to go thru crowds of rowdy teenagers to get to the walking path to PP, I was in a non Disney mood ! It was however very nice to get to DCA.

Just to further expound..... the room itself was nice, I also enjoyed the store. Unfortunately I did not find the staff helpful, the sinage adaquate, or the decor compelling.
But........this is just me opinion ! Others have had complete opposite reactions !
I will most likely stay at the GC next time.....even if it means longer stretches between trips.

Judy reminded me that the signage was not good. I agree with that. But, once we figured our way around, it wasn't a problem.

I just got back from six nights at PP and had a great time. The staff were absolutely terrific. When we check in we were put in the wrong type of room. We had booked a king bed and they gave us two doubles (after looking at my paperwork I realized it was my travel agent's fault, not the hotel). They fixed the problem right away and upgraded us to a theme park view without even asking. It was great to be able to watch the DEP from our window. It seemed like everyone there went out of their way to be friendly. We didn't have many teens that I noticed, but there were a lot of families with small children. Even though we had quite a few families on our floor it stayed pretty quiet the whole time we were there.

As for getting into the parks, the entrance into DCA was great as there was never more than two or three people ahead of us to get in. When we checked in, the CM told us that the fastest way to DL was to cut through GC. This worked great as it brings you out in the lower third of DTD . It saves all the walking through DTD when you want to save time .

The decor didn't exactly jump out at me, but there were enough Mickey's around that it would be hard to forget it is a Disney hotel.

I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We stay in PP last November. Crowds are thinner. It had just rained that week, so that might have had something to do with it. Disneyland is all decorated for Christmas. You must check out Small World. We liked the convenient parking structure located right next to the hotel. It is a longer trek to Disneyland than the other hotels, especially for little ones. However the fact that GC rates are almost twice the rate of PP it is worth it. Ask for a view room, we were upgraded without charge in November because the hotel wasn't full. No such luck when we stayed there last month. The pool is non-descript, but as Disney resort guests, you can also use the Neverland pool at DL. It may be too cold in November except for the Midwesterners and East coasters. We Californians consider anything below 60 degrees cold.:smooth: :smooth: :smooth:

Crowds should be low that time in December. I was there last December, first weekend and it was busy. It was also the Candle light processional and Marie Osmond was unveiling her newest doll (at the time it was her newest). That being said, I love the decorations. Small World Holiday was a huge hit with my 3 year old and my 20 month old nephew. Saturday the parks were crowded and we used fast pass and single rider lines to ride most of the big rides. Single rider was very nice. Since my sister and I had the kids we couldn't spend a lot of time in lines and being able to get right on w/ single rider helped a bunch (it is only on Indy and Splash at DL)

Nightmare before Christmas will take over the Haunted Mansion and it was very fun. They had a lot of different themed foods. Great deserts. Our weather was warm during the day and cool at night. My sister from Vegas thought it was cool all day, but since my daugher and I left the snow, we though So. Cal was warm.

Have a fun planning your trip and have even more fun on it.
