Hey guys I am looking at the pictures of construction going on at the Grand California and was curious exactly what this is? I will be there in October, im assuming these fences will still be up?

Any insight is appreciated. Scroll through the pages to find all the pics.

Thanks

Also, any idea when they will fill the water back into the lagoon in DCA?

Um.

Third picture down and the caption says...

"The new Grand Californian expansion is almost done... kinda."

It's for the Grand Calfiornian expansion. :P 200 regular-style Guest rooms and 50 villas for Disney Vacation Club.

The Villas at the Grand Californian will open on Sept 23rd.

If you are referring to the lagoon that was drained for the new World of Colour attraction, it is supposed to debut in spring of 2010

Thanks ACDSNY! I was able to get a one bdrm for Oct28 to Oct30 using my SSR points. So wanted to buy, but the economy got in the way. By the way: I just booked it a few days ago and was surprised to find out that they open in Sept. I had no truble booking these dates. So happy I'm going!!!

they are suppose to refill the lake end of summer or Oct-Nov and start testing through then.

funatdisney - Have a great trip! I don't think too many DVC owners realize the resort is opening early.

As I wrote, I was surprised that it opened early. I mean that is about 5 weeks early. Glad I was able to stay in a one bdrm. I have been looking to this for a very long time, and it is a good time to go. My DH loves the Halloween decor. and will love to relax in the room. I have been dreaming of getting up in the morning and having breakfast in our room for at least a year now. Or going to get a corn chowder to go from Storytellers and eat it in our room for lunch.
Haaaa.. I can see it now.
