Salt or no salt? I grew up with salt but now I'm a no-salt. I'm eating some right now. Tempted to put salt on it to see if I still like it.

ETA: Tried it. It was good (brings out the sweetness) but I'll stick with no salt since I am on two HBP medicines.

I grew up using salt on watermelon but I haven't done it in YEARS. I am curious what it would taste like.

I prefer a little salt. I've also tried it with Tajin at a friends suggestion, but I didn't like the flavor mix.

I've never salted watermelon. We did used to put salt on granny smith apples, but I can't even remember the last time I ate one of those.

Back in the day I ate watermelon, I ate it both ways. Just depended on my mood.

I don't eat watermelon now.

I also used to put salt on cantaloupe.

I have heard of using salt, but it was not something my family ever did. This reminder now has me curious to try it. Though I have no idea what quantity of salt to use.

I don't get salted watermelon. I do remember an elementary school classmate telling us that her dad (somewhat famous I'd add) put salt on his ice cream.

My wife's stepfather used to salt his beer. Didn't get that either.

My uncle always salted watermelon. I tried it once and it was not good. I just like watermelon as-is. It's a perfect fruit. He also put several shakes of salt on top of the coffee in the coffeemaker before brewing. I do this. It tones down the bitterness and doesn't taste salty at all.

Definitely salt. I'm from TX and that's how we all ate it. Also, just as an aside I put salt and pepper on canteloupe.

I was raised in Ohio, and we always salted watermelon. I can’t stand watermelon and would put so much salt on that it just tasted like salt. I don’t like melons at all.
