I use a different aggregator site and total listing numbers are about 50 less, so only 970 active
I think www.dvcforless.com has some rogue data e.g. www.dvcstore.com has 20 active listings for SSR but on www.dvcforless.com it is showing 21 and has this listing which is not on broker page

PS I'm only tracking MK resorts. So the two that I've recently noticed have been one each at BLT and at CCV. Both of these lead (or led) to DVC Shop.I believe that some brokers mis-code when a contract is taken, which leaves it in the DFL inventory. I've noticed this, too, and asked XXX broker, who said that it was shifted from active to pending, meaning it has an active contract, but it still shows up as available on the DFL site. But it's only a few, so I'm guessing that there's a code and communication issue on those.

However, I did buy 70pt BWV here 4 years ago for $100pp, closing costs were eye watering though

I bet it's like eBay where some people list things in hopes that someone will just click buy now & not do any research.

The main business model of SMTN is charging a very high fee for listing your timeshare, rather than getting a percentage for selling the timeshare. They may also get a percentage and collect on the closing fees if something sells, but that's not the point. The point is to get (and charge for) the listing. That's partly because slapping it on a web site doesn't take much time at all. Actually selling and closing requires someone to do some work!
That means that SMTN will tell someone whatever they need to hear to list their timeshare. "Oh, you want to sell your mud-season week at Mugwump Swamp? People are desperate to buy there, and that is a perfect time of year because there are no crowds! You can probably get $25,000 for it! If you let us list it for you we can get started on marketing that!"
The sellers generally have no idea how to value what they own. They only know they paid a nice chunk 20 years ago to buy it, and the kind and helpful sales agent explained that it was "deeded real estate" and of course we all know what real estate does over time, right? So, when someone gives them a totally unrealistic valuation, the seller has no idea.
Last I was over there, there were a bunch of actual brokers at known resale operations who were crosslisting some of their contracts there.I haven't used Redweek. From what I read on TUG, it means that Redweek has taken steps to verify that the owner owns what they say they do, and I think Redweek might also offer some additional protections?
