Contract Point Value

Purchasing an add on from Disney you can select your contract values. If purchashing 150 points in total, would it be better to have two 75 point contracts or three 50 point contracts?

My thoughts is more flexibility if needs change and you want to sell. Also,don't the smaller contracts go for more price per point?? So more value in the resale market?

If I were doing it again I would probably buy in 100 point increments. Large enough to make it cost effective to sell and small enough that most anyone could afford to buy.

However I heard someplace that DVC is charging closing costs. Don't know if that is true or not. If yes I might increase that to 150 or 200 point increments.

At this time, DVC is adding modest closing costs to new first-time purchases only. Add-ons thru DVC still have no closing costs.

With the current resale market, it does appear that smaller contracts can be easily sold and that won't likely change in the near future.

I would be tempted to divide an add-on of 150 points as two 75 point contracts.

IT also depends upon your personal situation. Do you have children that you'll want to leave DVC in your will? Contracts can't be split-up, so if you have 2 kids, then I'd go with 75 pt add-ons, 3 kids, 50 points add-ons, etc.

Just keep in mind that you need to buy a minimum of 115 points to get the $86 price!

Current incentive for SSR is $86 for an add-on with a minimum of 115 points. I believe the $95 price is for resorts other than SSR.

Depends on the resort - HHI is $87 to add on.

I bet you could get the $86 price with multiple contract addons as long as they are done at the same time and total 115 or more points.
