Continental seat assignment question...

I booked flights on Continental out of Cleveland. I did two transactions for my family of five to get a lower price on 3 of them. The other two seats were booked at a slightly higher fare. When I purchased the tickets and tried to select seats, nothing showed up as available on the seat map. :scared1: I completed the purchases and received email confirmations for both transactions.

When I went back to continental's website to "manage my reservations", it said that they were unable to assign seats at the time of purchase and that I could select them when checking in. Should I be nervous about this? Anyone with Continental experience that can put my mind at ease?

P.S. The flights no longer show up as available when booking for those dates.

The fact that the flight does not show up as an available flight usually means that it is fully booked. Make sure you check in at the 24 hour mark and try to get seats for everyone. If you can't get seats for everyone, make sure you arrive at the airport early!!

Is there another flight after this flight that would work in your vacation plans? There might be a possiblity for a bump - if you want one. Take a look at the schedule that day and see if there is another flight you can take that won't mess up your plan too badly. You may be able to get a free flight out of the deal. :)
