Has anyone flown with either of these airlines? The prices and times of their flights are good for when we want to go.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I've flown continental from EDI via Newark indirect to MCO a few years ago.
No problems, on a par with most scheduled airlines then as far as I was concerned.

Wouldn't hesitate about using them again, especially if the price is good. :thumbsup2

Only potential downside is the plane config, as it's often a 757-200 from EDI and GLA which is a 3 x 3, if there are 4 of you. Not a huge problem hopefully.

We have flown with Continental before and are again on the 25th. Both times Birmingham to NEwark then onto MCO. I must say that it was the best flight and service that we have ever had I really wouldn't hesitate in flying with them again - as Jakey said usually a 757-200 but that doesn't worry us too much either!

We flew with Delta three weeks ago from Manchester to Atlanta, onward to Orlando, when our BMI flight was cancelled.

Flight was fine and on time, in flight food was very poor, the IFE was not working for anyone, and we missed our connection after standing for ninety minutes waiting to get through immigration at Atlanta.

All in all, they would not be my preference, but if the price is right, probably worth a try. Just make sure they don't schedule a turnround in Atlanta of less than two and a half hours!

We flew with both of them last year and they are both great airlines. For me Continental would have the edge purely on ease of getting through Newark and flight times.

we were lucky enough to get free upgrades with delta on our return flight
no flights will ever be the same again :rotfl2:

only problem with Delta was they kept changing the flight times on us ,2 hours either way
and I think JFK is a busier airport then Newark

looking at Continental at the moment

After missing our connection on the way home last summer DH got upgraded to Business First and I know he's really going to feel the strain slumming it with us in economy next trip :rotfl:

Delta changed our connection last Christmas then decided it was too short and bumped us to a flight 5 hours later - we ended up arriving at 10pm and didn't get to our hotel until 11pm (4am Irish time - we'd been up nearly 24 hours :guilty: ) I'd choose Continental purely because of more connections to Orlando

I'm checking Continental prices daily at the moment, they are so much cheaper than both BA & Virgin & as we would have to fly down to London from Glasgow anyway the NewarK-Orlando bit doesn't bother us too much. In fact the actual travel times are better. BUT DS wants seat back Tv screens & the 757-200 doesn't have them- I've e-mailed Continental & they confirmed it- but unless the big 2 drop their prices a lot then DS is going to have to slum it!:happytv:

I'd go the Continental route for the price and the flight times and buy DS and Nintendo to play on the plane :rotfl:

just to add that contiental have seat power in the front 10 rows of economy. So if you book early and reserve those seats, then you can use a laptop or portable dvd player all the way!
