Just wondering if our flight nrs or something might have changed now that Continental and United has completed their merge and it's all called United now.

And on a side note, will the plane tickets arrive in the package they send us about a month before we leave as it's a flight including package? And is it possible to get the flight confirmation nr to keep track of the reservation or will Disney notify us if there's any changes?

so far i haven't seen any changes, but i'm guessing the service will be worse in much the same way as northwest service was hurt when it became delta....

United used to be a great airline, but in recent years has had much worse service than continental...time will tell how the merger shakes out...

Someone who books package holidays will know more than me here, but I've not seen an actual paper ticket for a plane for a good 10-15 years now. We just get an e-ticket (i.e. a booking reference number). Perhaps your tour operator will be able to provide you with this?

good catch - i didn't even notice this..
i don't think paper plane tickets even exist for commercial airlines...do they?

we flew continental just before the merger was complete
we received an email during our stay in WDW, and we seamlessly got to the united desk for our trip back.

Basically nothing has changed except the name on the sign above the airport desk and name on the plane.

we had e-tickets issued and there was no change at all, even if our tickets were issued by continental

get your eticket number from your TA, and register on united.com (or continental.com which will redirect you to united.com)
when you're registered, enter your eticket number under your account info and you'll be able to select your seats online (free)

I don't think TAs issue paper tickets anymore.

going off topic now, it's unbelievable to me what has happened in the US...
pretty soon there will be one major airline flying overseas as they continue to gobble each other up..

and the flying public will continue to suffer.....

for obvious economic reasons, following a merger, the airline reduces the number of combined flights, and usually the hub cities of the purchased airlines lose much of their service.....as an example, you can barely find a normal plane into detroit these days (on the domestic routes)....only toy planes...
detroit was one of the (two) northwest hubs....and then NWA was bought by delta....for a short while all was well...but not for long....
if you're flying domestic, you'd better like the embraer, because that's almost the only equipment flying in and out of detroit...oh...and the canadair....definitely not my idea of jet age airplanes...
and if you're flying overseas out of detroit, delta has started to put its worst airplanes on those runs as well....
of course who wants to go to detroit....you need your head examined if you want to go there, but delta has certainly made it even less desirable...

the same will ultimately happen to the hub cities of other purchased airlines...

I didn't use a TA, I booked directly through the UK part of the Disney World site, don't know if that makes a difference.

Hi

I have flights in May to San Diego with United (Originally Continental to New York then United for Internal flights and two different flight identifier numbers). I was recently emailed with a new flight identifier but basically the same flight numbers (with UA prefix instead of CO) so now I can print out a single e-ticket covering both flights. My seat selections made with Continental were retained. One downside is that the flights no longer qualify for Virgin airmiles now its United.

Cheers
