Continental breakfast trial at Kidani

I think that's a great idea. While it would add up $$ over the week it would be really nice to at least have the option to grab something on the way to the bus in the morning.

Just make sure you finish it before you try to get on the bus. Might not let you ride and eat/drink.

Our stay at Kidani was in a studio and I would have been THRILLED to have a QS meal right there. Even just muffins and cereal and coffee. What we ended up doing was buying a quick breakfast at Mara every night and bringing it back to the room to eat in the am. It worked but was an extra bus ride after a long day at the parks.

I am also happy to see this as dining seemed sparse when we stayed there in MAY.

This is great news!! We have a split stay next month and our Wegoshop order is being delivered when we move to BCV....glad we will have options at Kidani !!!

I may be in the minority here, but I don't think we'll make use of this at all. We always make coffee in the villa and get grocery delivery for quick breakfast items like cereal, nutrigrain bars, yogurt and juice. We also always get a couple dozen eggs. We hard boil them and then keep them in the fridge for a little protein in the morning. This allows us to have a quick breakfast in our room before heading out.
We always make a few breakfast reservations, Boma, Crystal Palace, and Kona Cafe are some of our favorites.
So between the days we eat breakfast in the villa, and the days we eat a table service/buffet, we really don't make use of a quick service/ grab and go.
But it's great for those that will make use of it. It's great that they are listening to the concerns/complaints of the members.

I agree with the above.

Our families QS (less than 5 minute prep) is made by me and includes options of french toast, pancakes, waffles, bagels, oatmeal, cold cereal, orange juice, chocolate milk, skim milk, coffee, tea, bacon, sausage (eggs made to order for an add'tl 5 minute). All served on the balcony overlooking the beautiful Savannah or at a table of your choice with a view of the TV or me. The only stipulation is you are a member of my family and you have made your bed back into the sofa or chair in our 1 BR at Kidani. Food is from BJ's and cooked in our wonderful kitchen by myself. Oh, and dinner is served here too on non-park days, and snacks are self-serve and all you can eat/drink, alcohol for adults only is provided as well.
:thumbsup2

One of the major reasons we bought into DVC was the ability to prepare meals. I know others will like the CS option, but for a family of 5, I would rather spend the money/time on somewhere else.

I am one of those who likes "bread" for breakfast so this is perfect for my family. A freshly made roll (warm if possible), fresh fruit and a class of milk or coffee is a perfect breakfast for my family. We are not fans of prepacked rolls generally found in gift shops. They tend to be dry and loaded with preservatives.

I hope this option continues. Does anyone know, can you use a snack credit for the available items?

I can pretty much guarantee there is very little "fresh" about the sweets being offered in this trial. Select items are still baked fresh at select Disney locations (like the BoardWalk Bakery) but my understanding is that these sorts of pastries and muffins that you see at every buffet and many quick service dining outlets are mass produced, shipped frozen and thawed-out the night before.

Well I am with you the only time we would want to eat cooked meal while staying dvc is for characters otherwise the option of fresh bread based products and a nice coffee is all we would ever want to have. We used it 2 days and it all tasted pretty fresh to us the croissants were better than those we had at the Disneyland hotel in Paris castle club earlier in the year and if they can't do them right....

My reaction....Ehhhh. Looks a little like the "free" continental breakfast any cut rate motel offers it's guests. Not something I'd be interested in at all. I'll continue to make my own in the villa.

There was an earlier mention in this thread (I think) that yes, snack credit use is possible.
