Hey all,

We now have the chance to go back to Orlando in August, and have seen that Continental have some reasonable flight prices\times.

We've never flown with them before so was wondering if any of you guys can give me some feeback on them based on your experience. The flights in question are from LHR - NYK (Newark) then onto MCO and visa-versa.

There is a 1 1/2 hour change window in NYK on the way out - do you think that is long enough? Also any feedback on the in-flight service etc would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Andy

wow - only an hour and a half? that's not very much time to clear immigration and customs....

i've flown continental through newark.....
it's a pretty easy connection....
and if you're on continental for both legs of the trip, they'll take care of you, if you miss your flight in newark (and there are lots of flights out of newark to orlando)..

as far as on board the plane, continental is fine......i can't remember what the entertainment was like.....i was on a 777.,...
it was crowded in economy, but then economy always is...

Similarly I have flown from Glasgow to Newark and also transferred on on to Miami with them as well. As previous poster said if your Continental both legs then they take care of you. We had an hour and a half between flights but we managed, 3 adults though so no little legs trying to keep up!
Economy is ok, quite bog standard but reasonable, service has always been good with pleasant staff. Last time I flew with them was 2006 and there was not seat back entertainment but they did show a movie or two.
If the price was right I would fly with them again no problem! :)

We just did Continental this Easter from Edinburgh via Newark.

IFE was fantastic - great choice of movies, music, games etc. Food was awful both ways (worst I ever had) so take some snacks! Soft drinks are free, alcohol is extra.

We had 90 minutes to change and managed it without any stress and they did hold the plane for about 10mins or so for latecomers (there was quite a few of us on that route and some took a bit longer to get through customs etc).

On the way back it was a bit chaotic - we had 3 hours I think at Newark and the gate number changed at a late stage. Flight was also overbooked and quite a few families were worried that there were no seats for some of them. I think it got sorted though and some people volunteered to be bumped off (for $600 voucher, hotel and next day flight!)

I would go with them again if the price was right but they are nothing special and still prefer BA.

I've flown with Continental 3 (return journeys) times in total now, twice to New York and once to Orlando, most recently being in March of this year.

I have to say I haven't had one bad flight with them and their IFE is probably the best I've used! I'd go as far as saying they're my preferred airline these days :goodvibes
