Contest!

So if you win the contest what resort are you going to pick? Did anyone see this contest on The Apprentice last night or are the Loews members who got emails the only ones who know about the contest? I have heard so many great things about the Loews in Santa Monica but I do have a trip planned to Orlando in December so I would probably choose HRH or RPR.
Good Luck everyone!!!!!!!!!:)

Oooooh, Miami sounds nice - thanks! So, what other Loews has anyone stayed at and enjoyed? We've been to Annapolis several times (DNeph went through the academy a while back) - it was pretty nice; Phila was very good to us - didn't have a suite so they gave us 2 connecting rooms for the price of the one (2 bathrooms, yeaaah!), 2 room amenities, too - milk and cookies for little DNeph, wine and nuts for DSis and I - and for the 'inconvenience' they also upgraded us to CL; in Coronado we had a beautiful suite - laying in bed we literally looked out a wall of windows onto the bay and across to the mts and city - had a large balcony with a full table and chairs - the pool there was very nice and family friendly. I'd better go check out the site and see where else I can go when I win ;) !!

Ask for a top floor ocean suite. Our's had really high vaulted ceilings and the bedroom had two walls completely covered in windows with panoramic ocean views. It wasn't just a parlor attached to a standard room but a gorgeous suite. We also had an adjoining two bed room for the kids. We didn't want to leave. We walked out to the pier and also did some shopping on their pedestrian only street. I'd go back in a flash!!!

Thanks Damo. I can't wait to see it!

We stayed at Philly originally so we could walk to Penn's Landing for the NYE fireworks. Turned out we had been upgraded to a high floor overlooking the whole thing! We opted to stay warm in the room to watch the fireworks and turned on the local t.v. station that was televising the event with the music. So cool that we stayed again the next two yrs. in a row. Saw the mummers on NY day once......and that was enough! LOL

I just received another email from Loew's promoting their Wonderful Winter Rates. Loew's South Beach is over a hundred dollars a night more than the next closest. Service there is second to none. The VIP Manager called me from home on his day off to check and see if there was anything we needed. Ecplz314 is right about the Tower where the upgrade is to a Jr. Suite with direct ocean views but it kind of depends on your party. I went with my daughter and her friend and emailed the VIP Manager in advance asking for the best room for us. He suggested the St. Moritz suite. I read tons of reviews and asked about all of the negative comments about the St. Moritz building and he assured me that we would be happy and he wasn't wrong. Our suite was on the top floor and the parlor was perfect for the girls. We had a balcony that was about 500 sqare feet with views of the pool, ocean, the palm lined promenade and downtown Miami. The furniture and plasma TVs were brand new. There was a short rain during our stay so the girls and I curled up on my king bed and ordered a scary movie. Before the movie was over someone slipped a note under the door saying that Loew's would pay half for movie rentals due to the rain. The rain stopped before the movie was over. My daughter's friend forgot her toothbrush so I called Star Services and they were more than happy (almost excited) to bring us one complete with toothpaste in a cute little gift bag. ( I asked for a comb from RPR last stay and they treated me like I was homeless.) South Beach is a hip and happening place. I can't really describe some of the things we saw. We extended our stay and even had to go buy more clothes and by the time we left almost all of the Loew's Staff were addressing me by name.
We have also stayed a New Year's Eve at Don Cesar on St. Pete Bch. They couldn't get our suite ready until nearly 7 and felt bad about it. They offered us compted dinner at their best restaurant but we didn't have the right clothes. They offered to clothe us but we declined and asked if we could just do room service. We had the best steaks with all the trimmings brought to the room. They gave us a welcome package with salt water taffy and gave us a free movie rental. The beach in St. Pete is more calm and appealing with quite a few nice shells.

If I won the contest and there were no blackout dates I'd pick Loew's South Beach on New Year's Eve.

We stayed at the Tradewinds right up the beach from Don Cesar before the DC was a Loew's.

OMG!!! I can't imagine what South Beach is like on NYE!!! I just realized that I never mentioned all the sidewalk restaurants for people-watching. Truly an amazing place!!!
