Has anybody stayed at the new hotel next to the Contemporary? It was under early construction last time we were there.

We have not but we are staying there in August. Very excited!!

The resort you're speaking of is Bay Lake Towers, a Disney Vacation Club resort. We have not, either, but we will be staying there in January when we run the half marathon. It looks absolutely beautiful and I'm sure that, if you're interested, it will be a wonderful stay. Hope that helped!

I didn't know that Bay Lake Towers is a a Vacation Club resort. We are not members of the Vacatiob Club so I guess we will not be looking into staying there. If $$ permits we want to stay at the Contemporary Tower

You don't have to do that either, you can stay there for cash through Disney, subject to availability.
The only thing about this is that BLT fills up fast even for DVC members using points. Non-DVC members will have an especially tough time.

Holidays are tough to book on cash. But pretty much every time I've looked at BLT for a cash stay, there has been availability. Definitely worth a try, I wouldn't let the fact that it's a popular DVC discourage anyone from trying to book it on cash.

It's not a separate resort from The Contemporary. The full name is Bay Lake Tower (only one tower) at Disney's Contemporary Resort.

It's all right; no great shakes. We stayed there once and realized we would have been better off at the Contemporary -- everything is there anyway (check in, restaurants, shopping, arcade, etc)..

We're staying at BL in October and we are not DVC members and we did not rent points :).

We booked a great rate on Expedia.com Nov 2010 for two nights (single BR) and they upgraded us to a 2BR.

LOVE BLT. Totally spoiled me for ALL future trips. The space is insane. Definitely going to look into renting points for DVC in the future!
