Hey Everyone...

Great boards...so much valuable info. I've been reading for some time and got tons of help with our upcoming trip. This a first post for me in some time. So looking for some advice.

Our upcoming trip will be Nov. 29-Dec 8th at the Contemporary. It will be myself, DH, DS 13, DD 10, DS 2, and my mom. My son always wanted to stay at the Contemporary and I was able to snag a AAA rate for a tower room. Justified the difference in cost for not renting a car. He graduates this year and being in high school next year not quite sure when we could do this again. Anyway here is a few dilemas I'm running into:

With all of us in this one room LOL....I have some concern on luggage and if we will have even a little room to put our clothes in the new rooms at the Contemporary. I plan on packing as light as possible...BUT STILL, lol...10 days with 6 of us...3 outfits each is still alot with the space the Contemporary has to offer for clothes. Anyway...any suggestions anyone has would be much appreciated. I even thought about buying those bags that you suck the air out with a vacuum...to store or stuff in (laughing) but think that's going a bit too far. So that's one dilema.

Other is bathroom situation...plan on just me and mom showering in the mornings. Rest of the clan at night. My question is...is there a mirror near the beds so that as one is in the bathroom....another person can be drying their hair or using the mirror near the beds. Hoping there is it would help out a bit with us all in the room.

At the moment these are my few questions...I'm sure there is plenty more I have but don't want to overload lol.

Thanks a bunch...

I just looked at the pictures on this site and there is a mirror above the desk area. It is going to be tight though! You will really need to utilize the balcony as a living area especially when 2 adults are trying to get ready in that room. Send Dh and one or both of the kids out on the balcony to eat their breakfast while you are getting ready. For the clothes, we really like having the collapsable hamper with us for the dirty clothes. Hanging bags for toiletries will help as well. We got ours from LLBean. Have fun!

Thanks...have to look into the collapsable hamper and hanging bags. I know we are going to be tight...just hoping we aren't in there that much. We weren't on our last trip...just to sleep.

Another question while I'm thinking...since the renovations at the Contemporary...are they still offering room service? I'm hoping and was planning on a few meals as room service.

Thanks a bunch....

We bought the hanging bag for toiletries for this trip (October/November 2007), but I remember reading that the bathroom door at the CR is a pocket door, so I don't know how we would use the hanging bag. I haven't looked too closely at the room, so maybe there's a towel rack or something we could hang it on, but I was wondering about this. Last time we took a plastic tote to the GF and just removed it from the bathroom every morning before leaving the room (made cleaning easier for Mousekeeping). Thought we were so clever about the hanging bag until I remembered the pocket door....

We have stayed many times at the CR but this past May was our frist time in a renovated room and we felt cramped as a family of four. There are two very narrow closets one on each side of the mini bar area where the fridge cabinet is. A few drawers on a small low chest by the bed closest to the bathroom next to the desk. No shelf above the sinks anymore but a narrow ledge runs below the sinks close to the floor. There are pocket doors going into both the bath and the WC area, and the little vanity area that used to be in the WC is gone. :(

Yeah that's my worries. Going to have to think of a creative way to store our clothes there. Hoping the fact we are just in there mostly to sleep that it doesn't affect us too much. I've been looking for any openings at the poly or gf but no luck so far and I probably won't get the AAA rate anyways. But I'll keep trying.

My one concern is where we put the luggage lol. I can get my 3 kids in one me and my DH in another and my mom will have her own. Ours are these big collapsable duffel bags we bought from the airport on our last trip since our luggage was way over in weight lol. So you can see why I'm a bit concern.

Anyhows thanks for all the resposes...any other creative ones is much appreciated.

If you don't plan on using the desk maybe you could nest it all there, I think we stood ours in the bottom of the closets after emptying them. I don't know, if push comes to shove maybe the bellman could store them in bell services until your departure day?
