Just curious. Has anyone stayed at the Contemporary Tower during a hurricane? I'm wondering if the Contemporary has any type of storm doors to close off the monorail entrance/exit. Also, do they keep any of the monorails inside? I thought I had read that they park 4 of them in the Contemporary...does anyone have pictures of this they could share? It must be a tight fit. Thanks.

i just had dinner there sunday night, we were staying at the CSR, but got stir crazy and ventured out for dinner, i wasn't paying particular attention, but there were at least 2 monorails inside....... the concourse steakhouse was open, the food was fine........ there were tons of activities on the 4th floor, magicians, kids games, etc....... all the doors were sandbagged, and the revolving doors were boarded up.......... hope this helps

I was there at Saratoga during the hurricane. I spoke with some folks that were staying there ( contemporary) and they said they had water being blown in to thru the sliding doors on the patio and it made the carpet wet. ( about 4 feet in) When she went to complain ( I don't know what for , it's a hurricane! things are going to be very wet!) She was told she was lucky,, others had leaks from the ceiling. So it appears that it was kinda leaky... Our studio at Saratoga was high and dry.. only we had to deal with a loud door seal that rattled until we put a towel in the door.

I believe they can only park 3 of them (2 rails on one side for the non-stop rides to/from the TTC/MK and one for the loop around the MK resorts). I stayed in the Wings for both Frances and Jeanne. For Fran, they had 3 monorails inside, but I did not notice the storm doors (for the monorails closed). However, for Jeanne, they were closed and rattled constantly while I was having dinner at Chef Mickey's from 530 to 630pm Sun. There may have been more, but I only noticed 2 monorails this past weekend.

I did notice very large water spots on the ceiling in the tower as well as some wet carpet in the north wing. This was better than the constant dripping in a few of the halls of the south wing during the last one. :)
