Contemporary to TTC

It's an awkward drive, because even though the lot is very nearby, you have to go out past the Poly, past the golf courses, and almost out of the area.

Go out towards the exit down World Drive, and when you're about to pass the Car Care Center you'll see a SMALL sign on your left - "Return to Magic Kingdom Parking", or something similar. Turn there and you're in the lot.

I'd say it's an 8-10 minute drive. If you miss the turn and have to go down and turn around and then back in through the toll plaza, that makes it maybe closer to 20.

ETA - after Robo's reply, if you want to get to the PARKING LOT, my guess is 8-10. If you just want to get to the TTC itself, such as dropping someone off or going to the lost & found area, then it's a direct drive, and 2-3 minutes is a good estimate.

You could take the Monorail, but that may increase your travel time by, oh, 3 hours or so.

But....you'll get water at the end of your adventure! :thumbsup2

In a car or the monorail, the trip (once underway) will take 2-3 minutes.

We will be in a car. We are staying off site and are thinking about checking out the resort before heading to the MK so just wondered how long it would take us to get there.

You can park at the TTC, take the monorail to the Contemporary then either walk or take the monorail to MK (although, the direction of the monorail from the Contemporary would take you all the way back through the TTC).

If you are staying off-site, and have to pay for parking anyway, perhaps just do the all-day valet parking (almost the same price) at the Contemporary and just walk to the MK when you ar ready.

Or park at the TTC, take the mono or boat to MK, then take the resort mono back to the TTC, getting off and wandering around the CL at the end of the day, before getting back on and heading back to the TTC.

Yes this will save a lot of time. probably save you 30 to 45 minutes.

You can walk from the CR to the MK. So park at the TTC and then monorail to the CR and when done walk to the MK.

You could also go to the MK first and for a little break later in the day visit the CR. Maybe eat lunch there. Lets just say its much easier getting from the MK to the CR vs the TTC to the CR.

You cannot park at the Contemporary unless you are staying there, or Bay Lake Tower, or you have a reservation at one of the restaurants there. People have abused the system by self parking there to avoid the parking fees at TTC. The security gate can verify if you are staying there or have a dining reservation. They won't let you in to park, just to "check it out".

Best bet is to park at TTC and Monorail over.

I disagree. I am 99.9% sure you can pay $15, and valet park there for the day (and not have to pay if you were to drive to another resort that has valet parking-except for a tip).

There have been multiple reports on this board of people PAYING for valet and being allowed to stay there all day.

Well, I hate to prove you wrong, but we had a dinner ressie at Tony's and drove to CR and inquired. The gatekeeper told us that we could indeed valet park, walk to our dinner ressie and stay as long as we wanted. Now then, this was @ 7 p.m. and there was plenty of parking, so different circumstances might require different plans, but it worked for us. Asking CM's a simple question is not a problem with me, they know what they do. If he had said no, we would have went and parked in MK parking.

We were turned away at the gate. They asked if we were staying there, nope. They asked if we had a dining reservation, nope. So I then asked about valet, nope, still didn't let us in. Not even to hang out and check out the resort. (We just bought DVC at BLT, but weren't staying there this time)

Now, they may be only doing this during busier times of the season. (Actually, this was January 2013.) I'm not here to prove anyone wrong. However, this did happened to us, and I'm only telling the experience we encountered. You don't have to believe me. I am just another screen name on the interwebs. Everyone, feel free to try it for yourself and let us know. :thumbsup2 Maybe you'll catch a CM in a better mood. At worst, you turn around and park at TTC a few minutes later.

Definitely enforced when were there last August. Validated our dining #, then asked if we wanted to valet or self park, and told in no uncertain terms we were limited to a 2 hour stay.

We tried parking there in march. We were going to try & eat there as a walk up & were told in no uncertain terms absolutely not! Made us turn around & leave which was not easy. And they weren't even busy.
