Contemporary to Epcot

I know that, from the Contemporary, I can take the monorail to the TTC, and then hop on the Epcot monorail, but then I remember hearing that the Contemporary is within walking distnace to the TTC. Is this true? If so, how long does it take to walk there? (trying to see if its easier/faster to walk to the TTC than take the monorail)
