Hello Everyone!

I am planning my honeymoon , and we want to stay in the Contemporary resort. I have been looking at pictures online, and I know this might sound silly, but some of the rooms look a little more updated than the others. I know they all were updated, but does anyone have any information about the rooms that I might not know :) I like the one's with the darker color scheme and the TVs that are built into the wall. I want our time to be perfect so I am being picky :lovestruc Is it random or if I book a certain room type will I get one?

Thanks for any help I get :)

This is the type of room that I would love to get

:welcome: to the DIS!! What a wonderful choice for your Disneymoon.

You will get the room with the built-in TV if you aren't staying in a suite. The room interiors (both Tower and Garden Wing) are all identical except for the CL suites in the Tower.

Here is the link to the CR's FAQ/Info. thread's first page which has many photos and links to more photos:

Here is another link with even more great room photos, including CL suites:

All the Tower rooms up to the 12th floor and Garden Wing rooms were renovated with the same room designs. The standard rooms and suites on the 14th floor did not get the same renovation design, so they are the only ones that look different.

So if I book a Tower Room with either the Bay Lake view or MK view, or even the Garden Wing with thegarden view the rooms will be like the first picture I posted? :confused3 I'm a Disney newbie and this will be my first stay at Contemporary, so forgive me if my questions are silly. When I call to make my reservation can I explain what I am looking for and will a cast member be able to help me out? Thanks again!

:thumbsup2Yes, the Garden Wing and Tower rooms will look exactly like the first picture. The second picture is of a CL (Club Level/14th floor) Tower Suite. (You can see the open connecting door in the background.) I know it's confusing because on the WDW site they show the second picture and imply that it's a photo of a standard (non-suite) room, but it's actually a suite.

Don't bother explaining your room-style choice to the CM. Unfortunately, this will probably confuse them:sad2:. But, you can have them put in your ressie any location preferences you might have. For example, if you are staying in the Tower BLV or MK view and you want your bed to face away from BLT or toward the MK, ask for an "odd-numbered room". If you think the hoopla from CM (Chef Mickey's) might bother you early AM or late evening, ask for a Tower room "away from CM's."

Good luck!

Don't forget what ever requests you make are not going to be guaranteed since they are just requests, so try to make them as easy as possible when telling the Cast Member. For example if you have the Magic Kingdom View and want to stay as high as possible request a high floor, because it's very simple and others have said the less requests the easier it might be to get them.

Thanks again! I think I am going to book a Garden Wing Room, and I think I will just keep it at that! I don't mind where it's located really, just what it looks like...hehe :thumbsup2

That sounds great.

My personal favorite GW room is on the 1st (ground) floor facing Bay Lake. You can walk right onto your patio and be steps from BL/beach in front and the pool area to your left. There are always cute little ducks and bunnies around, too. It's lovely.
