Howdy,

I had to share this with y'all. My parents are down at WDW right now staying at the CR. They are there celebrating their 44th Wedding anniversary:sunny:

I had ordered a cake to be delivered to their room. I just thought it was going to be simple and they would drop it by the room. Boy was I wrong!:hyper:

They said he came in, handed them a card (from us) and began to set the table. Tablecloth, plates, glasses...the whole shebang! Then when they were done reading the card, he did a presentation of the cake (chocolate cake, buttercream chocolate filling, white butter cream frosting, with a picture of the castle on it, and all sorts of colored mickey's stamp on the sides) My parents said the cake was beautiful. Even when I called room service to verify the cake was there, the guy couldn't believe what a great job the bakery had done! He told me it was beautiful! :Pinkbounc

I had to order the cake a month in advance, but they did a great job! I just wanted to let y'all know, even away from Disney, they can still reach the magic up here in Tennessee!

They told the mouse we were on our way next month, We cannot wait!!!::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

fanofgoofy: What a wonderful thing you did for your parents.:lovestruc Disney really know's how to help make memories. Susan

Your post gave me the chills! What a fabulous idea!

I would love to do something like this for my parent's 50th next month. Unfortunately, my dad is borderline diabetic. WHat kind of choices or options were you given when you called, and who did you call? I wonder what I could get them that was not too sugary...? (although the cake sounds awesome!)

FanofG00fy, wow! I love the CR and now you made me love it even more. What a wonderful surprise for your parents on such a ~magical~ occasion! I hope your parents took photos so that you may post one to share with the rest of us as the cake sounded both gorgeous and scrumptious (double-yum!).

Happy anniversary to your parents.

Chamonix, I'm not sure where you're staying but a phone call to your resort's Front Desk should start you down the path to finding something to honor your parents' wedding anniversary with. Once you get in contact with the correct folks, explain to them the dietary requirements and I'm sure they should be able to come up with something suitable for such a ~magical~ occasion.

Chamonix,

I called the front desk at the Contemporary and they connected me to Room Service. Room Service is very helpful. Just tell them about your dad and I'm sure they can come up with something. It was between a Cake and a fruit plate. The reason I chose the cake is that my mother had seen the cakes on the Food Network special on Disneyworld. Mom and Dad are still down there, and they are still talking about how they presented the cake to them. They sat on their balcony, with cake and milk and watched the fireworks over the castle. They are having a great time! But like I said, I'm sure Room Service can help you come up with something. Good Luck. Oh the Phone number I used was 1-407-824-1000. Have a great trip!!!:wave2:

The mouse knows we're coming!::MickeyMo
