Hello.

I have posted here before with questions about resorts. We stayed at the Contemporary in 2006. We loved it but I was trying to find a different resort to try for our 2008 trip. Well, DD loved the Contemporary and has begged to stay there again.

We stayed in the South Garden Wing with a patio on the first floor. It was very nice and we enjoyed it. Is it worth paying the extra $$ for a bay view room? We cannot afford to do a MK view, but were thinking of a bay view or save the $$ and stay in the Garden Wing again.

Thanks!

Hi - tough question! I think if you are happy in the wing than save the $$. I have recently stayed in the tower for the first time after a few stays in the wings (before renovations). There are pros and cons with both. I stay in a MK view room so the con was the $$.

The pros of the tower would be easier access to restaurants and monorail!

Do you spend alot of time in your room (ex. naps, afternoon swims)? The view would be nice to have if you do. Would the extra $$ be better spent somewhere else?

I should have mentioned in my original post that yes, we are planning on spending a lot of time relaxing this trip. It will be July and very hot so we don't want to kill ourselves running around trying to see everything. My kids will most likely want to spend lots of time at the pool and having dinner or breakfast with the characters.

That is why our resort choice is really important on this trip.

I think it's WELL worth it:

You get easier access to the monorail and the concourse. You don't have to brave the elements (heat, rain, whatever season Florida will be throwing at you during your trip) to get to the food court, restaurants, to/from the monorail, etc.

You get your own personal viewing of the Electrical Water Pageant from your balcony every night.

You get (especially if you're staying on one of the higher floors ) a pretty nice view from your hallway (or from one of the exterior stair wells if they're open...ours were at least a couple of nights) of the MK fireworks...and yes, I've seen people out there watching. :)

We've stayed in both, and I vastly prefer the tower room with bay lake view to the wing rooms.

I would choose the Tower than!

Antoher vote for the Tower. Having stayed in both, we feel it's welll worth the extra money. Especially if you plan to spend a lot of time at the resort. We choose Bay Lake View over MK view, because we like the water view, and it's nice to see the sunrise/sunset too. It's very nice to have everything in one central location. Plus, at the end of a long day, it's nice to just get off the monorail, jump in the elevator, and be at your room!!
