Contemporary Resort Rehab...is this really what it will look like?

The most inexpensive rooms are the standard view rooms in the garden wings. It is probably not likely that they will have these rooms completed before your trip in November.

They originally told people that the South Wing rehab would be done in October. I'm not sure if this is still the case. That announcement was made a while ago when they first announced the rehab. A recent poster was upgraded from the CR North Wing to the Poly because they were told that that the CR North Wing was undergoing rehab beginning July 7th. I was under the impression that they were closing the North Wing at that time. There was also a rumor that they were working on the 14th floor concierage level.

They are redoing EVERY room at the contemporary. The entire project will be completed around the end of 2006.

The north is not going to be done. Only the Tower and the South. The north rumored to be turning into Villas for the Vacation Club.

That is just rumor and speculation at this point. I guess it is just wait and see at as to the order they do things.

From what I read, they redid 2 Tower rooms as "models" and the South wing is now closed until October 31 for refurbishment.

Wow, they look a LOT like the Starwood's W Hotel rooms. Same colors and everything. Which we like. I like these new CR rooms very much! We found the old ones more than a bit garish and clown-like. The CR is back on my list.

That's exactly what I thought! Although the Contemporary has NEVER been on my list - until now. I would love to stay in one of those rooms.
