Looking for anyone who knows anything about the Garden Wing on the Contemporary Resort...Likes/Dislikes? Where exactly is it? Do you feel like you are still staying at the contemporary resort?

Thanks!

We stayed here for conference back in october. They put everyone there for the conference in the garden wing. Personally I didn't like it at all. We were in the very back corner near the water way to go to MK. We heard the boats blowing their horns to go through the chanel pretty much all night esp the nights that MK was open later. We also had a hike to get to the monorail/buses. Personally I would rather stay somewhere else for the money.

We stayed in the South Garden Wing for the first night of our trip in Nov. 2007 (in a suite), and I didn't care for it much at all. The rest of our trip was on the 10th floor, with the Magic Kingdom view. I can't begin to describe how awesome it is to get up in the morning, go out on the balcony, and have your view encompass The Polynesian, The Grand Floridian, and of course The Magic Kingdom! If you search my posts, you'll see the picture of The Grand Floridian that I took from our balcony.

Anyways, if you want to try The Contemporary, I'd go with the Magic Kingdom view. In the Garden Wing, you just feel like you're too far away...

Hope this helped... :thumbsup2

Oh, and I forgot to mention being able to watch the fireworks from you balcony is pretty cool as well...

I think there's a channel on the TV in your room that plays the park audio to go along with them, but I forgot to look for it... :confused3

I like the garden rooms especially for the price.

short walk to the tower to catch the monrail - or you could walk to the MK directly.

the only wing now is the South wing. (the north wing is gone and a building is going up 16 floors in its place)

for the price and size of the rooms - it is hard to beat it.

We stayed there this past November and it was great! Now, I have never stayed in the tower, so I can't compare it to that. But we have stayed at AKL in a Savannah room and given the choice (even though I love AKL), I would have to pick CR because of the location. It doesn't take long to walk to the tower at all (instead of walking through the hallways, we walked outside to get there). Probably about 5 minutes. We never heard any boat noise or anything like that and we were at the very end of the garden wing. We did have noisy people upstairs very late at night and very early in the morning (out of control toddler running around because I finally walked outside and looked up to see what the deal was and he was looking out the door).

I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed in the north garden wing (the one that was torn down). We loved it.

My family and I stayed in the garden wing and loved it. We used the walkway to MK many times. My husband got a big kick out of the fact that we could walk from our hotel to MK!!! It is only a 5 min walk to the tower and you think about it, depending on what resort and building you were in, you could have a 5 min walk anywhere in another resort. Im sure the tower is more convienent but it is more money. We definatley enjoyed it. Hope that helps.

Funny – this is precisely why I sometimes prefer the garden wing, especially if it's a Bay Lake view.

After staying in both the garden rooms and the tower rooms, I would never stay in a garden room again. It felt like we were sleeping in the maids quarters and were being secluded from everything that makes the Contemporay special.

love the Grand Wing at the CR
the price
short walk to the old food court than the tower (since this is no longer true - don't know)
being more aware of the activities at CR - (tower is enough removed that you might not do some of the other stuff)
no white noise :thumbsup2 (hate the white noise in the tower - necessary because of the monrail)
definitely quieter than the tower
short walk to the tower
also short walk to the MK

definitely feel like the CR - we had breakfast a couple of times at CM! (they do give CR resort guest priority)

I prefer the wing rooms to the tower. The only drawback is not having a balcony, but you can request a first floor room, as they have a patio. I like the lake view myself. I had a room in December at the end of the wing, and it was literally a two minute walk to the tower, less than five minutes to the 4th floor, and being on the first floor, no elevators to deal with. The beds are sooooo comfortable and it was nice to have a computer in the room. The rooms are laid out and decorated exactly like the tower rooms.m I think the wing is quieter, more peaceful than the tower. I can understand why people want to stay in the tower, but I just prefer the wing.
