Contemporary resort? Any tips for UK visistors?

I know it's a bit late, as we go tomorrow, but has anyone got any good tips for Uk visitors to the Contemporary resort hotel - very little info on the UK Discussion boards. I only booked it 'cos it had the monorail going through it! Wondering if it was a mistake!!!

I have never stayed there but have eated at Chef Mickeys and California Grill and I love those.

I've never stayed at the Contemporary, but I've visited it many times.

It isn't the prettiest of buildings from the outside, but it does have several advantages over the other resorts.

The first is the location. As you said, it's on the monorail and is only a few minutes walk from the MK.
If you are lucky enough to have a tower room facing the MK, the views are second to none.

The California Grill is another big plus. One of the finest Disney restaurants, it also has possibly the finest view in all of WDW. If you time it right you can get a window seat and watch Wishes and Reflections of Earth on the same evening.

The pools are very nice and are situated by the side of Bay Lake.

I'm sure you won't consider it a mistake when you arrive!

Like Kev I haven't stayed there before, but pretty much always visit when we're at WDW. It will always be a special place to me as it's where I proposed to DW (all those years ago ).

One suggestion for you is not to neglect the boats that ferry you back and forth to the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness. Both of these places are well worth a trip and are only 10-15 mins by boat.
