I know that they are renovating the contemporary. i think they are starting the tower rooms first, and working their way through. does anyone know how long they're going to be working and in what order its happening?

I think they are currently working on the tower then the South wing or they are complete in the south wing. But I am pretty sure the tower is currently under renovation. I heard they are moving one of the restaurants from the concourse level downstairs to the arcade room and making a new room for the arcade also.

I just returned from my 7 day stay at the Contemporary and was in the south wing. There are no renovations of the rooms going on there. The only thing we saw was new hallway carpet. While I love the CR, my group was not too thrilled with their stay. Yes we booked 2 standard room and got a discount and that is how we were treated. We had 2 standard rooms facing the construction in the parking lot. I noted my concern when we were told we were in the So. Wing. With a 6 month old infant who needs naps, we were concerned about the noise. Yes we heard the trucks coming and going (and that constant beeping when they back up). Because of the construction, we had a tough time finding parking in the So. wing in the afternoon because with part of the parking lot closed, the employees and guest share the same small lot. Even some construction parking was going on there too (though there are signs saying they are not suppose to). We finally had to park in the security spot one day because there was nothing. We called and complained and told them where we had to park. One day we had no hot water and had to run hot water through the coffee pot to heat up the baby's bottle, yes we complained. Housekeeping was adquate, but usually showed up near the end of the day, and often we had to send them away.....the baby was napping. Housekeeping was just that...a quick wipe down, clean towels and a quick bed adjustment. No I didn't tip this trip because housekeeping just did their job and not a great job of it either. Mid trip, my adult kids said they wanted to go back to Pop Century (we stayed there the first 2 nights). CR is my favorite resort (hubby's is WL)...I am hoping for a survey card this time, but it will do no good. The last time I expressed my disappointment for a resort stay, I was basically told, I had a discounted room, so should be happy with what I got.....hope no one goes to the CR and stays in the South Wing hoping for something exciting....the only construction going on was the carpet in the halls and lots of roof construction.

Actually there is construction going on in the South Garden Wing... it's been cleverly disguised. In the central elevator area, where the seating and parking access are located, there is a door on the same wall as the elevator, with a sign noting "Cast Member Access Only" and directly below that, a list of room numbers. Beyond this door are the rooms currently under rehab.

(These rooms would be in the shaded area).

I too have recently stayed in the South Garden Wing... was not impressed with the room and level of service, considering we were paying rack rate, and frankly, even if we had been paying half of that, we still wouldn't of been satisfied.

We were in the front of South Wing and all the work appears to be going on above on the roof. Maybe they are working on the rooms, but I would've thought that the entire South wing would be closed down. I did hear many rumors while there that the North Wing was going to be torn down....Since this was my second stay at CR in 2 years, both times in a standard room, I doubt I will be back. Unfortunately standard rooms are the most I will pay for this resort (and that is with a discount). I will say that the rooms are very quiet because I never heard my granddaughter cry when she woke for a feeding. I did hear her while at Pop century. We had connecting rooms at both resorts which was nice and unexpected. I guest I was expecting just a tiny bit of magic since I was celebrating my 50th birthday.
