Hi all,

I will be traveling to WDW in August with my husband and 3 kids, DS, 8, DD, 5 and DD, 5. We have gotten similar quotes for the Contemporary resort, Garden view and the Poly resort. We have never stayed at either. Which would you reccomend?

Thanking you in advance, erfaith

We went through the same decision process and we decided on Poly. This will be our first stay there but after looking at both we decided on the POLY.

Here is a site about the POLY that may help: tikiman2001.homestead.com

I vote the Poly....it is fantastic; makes you feel like you're actually on a vacation! I haven't actually stayed at the Contemporary, but I have been there to eat and ridden "through" on the monorail several times. It seems to be very lackluster, a no personality environment.(my opinion)

I love the CR - it is just cool to be able to walk to the MK - no doubt about that! There is no baby pool though....not sure you need that but the other one might be over their heads for the 5 yr olds.

But a lot of folks are bailing on the CR this year because of all the construction going on there. Many other posts about the CR have the construction schedule. I personally would not want to stay there with the construction - why bother if you have the choice? The Poly was just renovated too. We may do a split stay this summer and I choice the Poly over CR cause of that (and I've always wanted to try it - good time to do it).

Personally I like the Contemporary better, but with the construction it might not be as good as the Poly. Also, garden view at the Poly is a lot better than garden view at the Contemporary where you are out of the tower and in the wing rooms (they are the same, but I think half of what makes the Contemporary so cool is staying in the tower). Based on what you want I would say Poly.

Polynesian all the way.

The pool has a zero depth entry and a cool volcano slide your kids will love. The theming is fun for kids--mine love the tikis and Hawaiian music everywhere.

Transportation to Epcot is easier from the Polynesian, as you can walk from there directly to the TTC and catch the direct Epcot Monorail, whereas if you're at the Contemporary, you have to change Monorails at the TTC (you cannot walk directly) which takes extra time.

Also as someone else mentioned, there's major construction going on at the Contemporary whereas the Polynesian is, at least right now, not having major renovations done.

Without a doubt, Poly! I would say that anyway, but with all the construction at the CR, I would definitely steer clear of there for this trip.

I love the Poly but there is that magical feeling at the CR. Think its something to do with Chef Mickeys, walking distance to MK and it being the original Disney resort. The advantage over the Poly is that is has hot tubs, and the best restaurants IMHO. The advantage to the Poly is the beautiful tropical landscaping and room decor. If it were equal price I would choose the Poly hands down.
