Just a quick question to get people's opinions  If you had the money, would you choose a tower room at the Contemporary or a deluxe savannah concierge room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge?

Anz :earsgirl:

As someone who doesn't like animals, I'd go for the Contemporary every time.

Ohhh difficult one :)

I would love to stay in a tower room at CR :) (Isn't that what you had booked last time, if so I would go with this :) )

But then again I would love to stay at AKL. They both have loads of positives :)

I thinking the one thing that would push me to choose would be the location of the CR :)

Anz.....you know you are going to go again :teeth: and again:teeth:

LOL ;)

Definitely the Contemporary over AKL. AKL just doesn't appeal to me though so that would be why :)

Thanks for the replies :) I've got two quotes for a night at each and I couldn't decide which one I wanted. But I've now decided - Contemporary it is :) We were supposed to stay here in September and I'm gutted at having missed out so I am planning on paying to stay there our last night and I'm not going to tell hubby until we go! Sneaky aren't I :teeth: I'm telling myself it will be a nice surprise and present for him but really, it's more of a present for me ;) Now all I've got to do is hide the credit card statements for 3 weeks!

Anz :earsgirl:

Never really fancied either but I think the location of the Contemporary woul ddo it for me :)

Sneaky Anz? Never :teeth:

Just well planned, I call that ;)

Well planned....yes, I prefer that to sneaky lol :) If hubby asks for his credit card statements I shall tell him that he can't see them as his xmas pressies have been bought using it ;)

Anz :earsgirl:

Oh well, I've paid for it now :teeth: Off to hide the bank statements lol!!

Anz :earsgirl:

Sounds good Anz! You are out the same time as me and Miffy arent you? Are we all meeting up? :D It can be the Contemporary if you like ::yes::

We had a great stay at the AKL in Sept. I thought it was a stunning hotel, great pool area and interesting restaurants. The Contemp will provide top class service, but I thought it had a boring pool area and it's design is getting a little dated.

I'd go for the AKL EVERYTIME.

I think we are out there the same time as you and Miffy Allie yes - a meet up would be great fun :Pinkbounc We fly out on the 16th and are there til the 30th. Are you both staying on-site?

Anz :earsgirl:

have to agree with Vernon on this one. I have not stayed at either but passing through the Contemporary in the monorail and seeing those steps up either side remind me of a block of Council Flats!! The Animal Kingdom Lodge looks absolutely fab but the location is a bit way out.
So if I had the chance I would stay either the Poly or the GF.
But if you like the Contemporary I am sure that you will have the greatest time :D

Anz :)

We are in Orlando (at ASMo) until Dec 23rd so could we make date sometime before then but after 16th? I know Allie's movements pretty well ;) but I'll let her speak for herself :teeth:

Perhaps a drink in the Rose and Crown?? (Believe it or not I've never been in there!!)

It would be lovely to meet you :)

I still have a "soft spot" for the Contemporary, even though we've only stayed the the Garden Wings.

There's still something about the monorail going through the hotel and the proximity to Magic Kingdom that really does it for me.

Hi guys. Yep we are there the 9th to the 30th. Not staying onsite though, we have a Villa on Highlands Reserve.

I have Epcot pencilled in for Sun 19th (DH has his Segway tour that morning) so could meet at the R&C for lunch or a drink? We have never done R&C, so wouldnt need much of an excuse ;) . We can all laugh at the video footage of DH and his Segway (I am hoping for a couple of spectacular crashes....:teeth: he knows Im only kidding!).

DH and I would probably be allowed to "sneak out" one night if an evening meet was preferred. We have no firm plans for the nights of...17th, 18th, 19th, 20th. By that I mean no PSs are made. Hmmmmm....Cant believe I have a run of 4 nights with no PSs....something in my itinerary might need adjusting!!

Sharpen up, Allie ;) Call yourself planned? :teeth:

How does that sound sfor you Anz? I don't think I can swing another evening away from the kidlets so I would have to bring them. They are pretty well behaved though I cannot speak for DH ;)

We have no firm plans for the nights Allie suggests, so any of those are good, or perhaps a spot of lunch or a drinkie poo might suit better? What do you think?

Hey girlies  I love the idea of lunch and a drinkie at the Rose and Crown, sounds fab :Pinkbounc I'd love to meet up with yous. We're at MVMCP on 17th, doing Keys to the Kingdom Tour early on the 20th, Candlelight Processional and dinner at R&C on the 24th and at MK with PSs for Crystal Palace and Cindy's on the 25th - apart from that, we have no firm plans or PSs made, so the 19th is very good for us :teeth:

Anz :earsgirl:

We stayed in a tower room this summer and loved the Contemporary so much that we are going back for 5 nights next year (we are trying a wing room this time)

I loved the closness to the MK and seeing wishes from our balcony. The pool area was great and the kids loved the "beach" We visited AKL and to be honest it did nothing for me - it was too dark and felt too big. (somehow the Contempoaray didn't feel big)

Great choice and I am sure you will love it :cheer2:
