I am currently heading to Disney world this summer (camping at Fort Wilderness:goodvibes ) and wanted to know whats the buzz on all this Contemporary construction, and if that wrecks the stay at the hotel, the refurbished rooms are nice but are all rooms refurbished:confused:

thanks,
ryandek

I believe that all the rooms are refurbished - I think they finished a last year.

I really don't think the construction will make a difference because it is so separate from the tower.

I hate the new lobby - it looks like a extra nice Ramada now and not very Disney, IMO.

We started all our madness here in 1977 and did many a stay there, all north garden wings. We've logged 40 trips to WDW and have since moved on to try other resorts but finally ending at the WL. The resort has changed alot over the years, some we didn't care for, they used to have the biggest game room on property and a great food court, that's all moved now. We visit here often but like the atmosphere alot better at the WL and the cheaper price. We have always said we'd go back if a good rate came out for old time sake but.................Nothing beats the monorail right through the lobby, food is still good though the pools lacking and the ambiance is still there, sights and smells, sure bring back alot of great memories. We watched the construction going on over there from the Lodge and are anxious to see the outcome of the towers. To some, nothing beats a Magic Kingdom view from the tower but we just feel the price doesn't justify it anymore, we rather take the savings, stay at the Lodge longer and visit the CR when needed.

Stayed in Jan at CR. All the rooms are refurbished. The Concourse Steakhouse had horrible service but I think that's gone now. We love the gift shop there and of course Chef Mickey's and the monorail. Never heard any construction during our stay. Loved the room...very clean and great MK view although it isnt necessary for our next trip. :)

All the rooms have been refurbished, they will still be working on the Bay Lake Towers, however that since is happening outside it has no effect on guests staying there. As of right now they are working on turning the Concourse Steakhouse into Chef Mickey's Express, so that would be some construction happening on the 4th floor of the Tower. However it has been posted WDW wants it open next month on the 14th, so once that happens all the renovations inside the Tower will be 100% finished.
