I haven't been on for a while and tried to do a search looking for the info without any luck. Any new news on the Contemporary Construction?
 
Nothing official. Construction is moving along quite nicely, and the announcement is rumored to be in early July. I guess CMs are unable to take vacation in July and Aug unless it's previously been scheduled.

If I can find the pics that were recently posted, I'll come back and provide a link. They were great shots!!! :thumbsup2
 
Can they begin selling points before rooms are available? Don't they have to declare into inventory before being able to sell? :confused3

Unless they've rehabbed a few rooms in the main tower very very secretly. ;)

Not sure, but aren't they selling AKV now? I think they can sell, you just can't book your reservations until points are available to use. I'm not 100% sure how all that works, though. I'm sure others who have been around a lot longer than me can give you a much better answer!!! ;)

As far as a few rooms in the main tower...wouldn't that be cool??? :thumbsup2

They're selling AKV, but they are rooms in inventory now in Jambo. I believe you're correct in that the points they've sold in Kidani can't be used yet (which is why they were handing out some developers points).

I just thought they had to wait until something was declared into inventory to begin selling at all. Perhaps it's just a completion percentage/threshold that they need to meet? :confused3

Developers who post a bond with the state can sell before the first shovel of dirt is moved. Not sure what the situation w/ disney is, but they are preselling Kidani now.

I'm trying to think back and see if they started selling Jambo before or after the rooms were completed. Maybe since there is already an available structure on property (Contemporary, Animal Kingdom, etc), they can sell right away. That may be what they did with Jambo ... but my memory appears to not go back that far. :lmao:

Right now DVC is selling units in Kidani Village which will not open for nearly a year.

Before that they sold Jambo units starting 2/1/07 and they did not open until 7/2/07.

Before that it was different phases of SSR which began selling anywhere from 6-12 months before the buildings were complete.

As long as the state filings are complete and licenses issued, they can begin selling.
