Contemporary Lake View or Bay Lake Tower Theme Park View?

It depends. The studios at BLT are tiny, and if you're comparing BLT studio to a tower Lake View, no content on tower Lake View. It's more complex if you're paying for a 1BR, since the BLT 1BR units are sweeeeet.

The room size does concern me since we'll just be coming off a 7 night cruise and have already been cramped for a week lol.
Let me ask this way- if you were a 6 year old, which one would you choose?

I'm not a 6-year-old. I'm the person PAYING for this thing!

And as the person paying, I'd pick the tower lake view. BLT studios are small, and awkward when the sofa bed is out.

Depends on how many people you will have in the room but I would most likely pick BLT. Love the Theme Park View.
Me and my (will be) 6 year old. Why do you prefer BLT? I'm curious to read people's opinions. To me it seems inconvenient to not be in the tower, and maybe not as exciting for a child.. that is what I'm having a hard time with. Is the view worth not being in the building you want with the advantages that go along with it.

Thanks for replying :)
I'm driving myself crazy over this and afraid it may sell out

A lot of people would argue Lake View is nicer than TPV for much of the day. While you definitely see Magic Kingdom, you also see a lot of Parking Lot.

With a six year old I would pick the MK view. If he can stay up late enough there is nothing like the fireworks from your balcony, with the music and narration piped in on your tv. But the Lake View is preferred by us because it's beautiful, and you can always watch the fireworks from the top floor lounge.

Can you see monorails traveling to and from the parks in a lake view? That would somewhat make up for not having the tpv. Can you see anything of interest besides the lake? I don't know much about the contemporary. The only reason I chose it this time was bc we won't be utilizing a pool..and with 2 out of 3 days being MK days and since it will be cool weather, it makes more sense than Poly or GF...but I was getting excited about staying there! I cant deal with my son begging to go down the lava slide in December in Orlando lol..even with heated pools

..Or I just give in and purchase one more night to fit the minimum stay requirements for TPV at CR that week... I just have a real issue with paying for a night I won't use.

Mostly the lake, and the boats are in a Lake View. Also, pool view. But it's quieter.

TPV gets you the fireworks, but it may also include some parking lot.

I would do the Bay Lake view in the Tower.
You're right - it is more convenient to be in the tower (I've stayed in BLT once - a 2-bedroom w/ MK view-,and 3 or 4 times in CR Tower).
Walking out of your room's door onto the Concourse is an exciting view all in itself!

Plus, the Bay Lake views are lovely.

Thanks for posting the photos! I've spoken to my travel agent and I've decided that I'll leave things the way they are for now (CR Lake View), and we are hoping that CR TPV will allow a 3 night stay to be booked again sometime in the next few months, and I'll switch rooms. The water is beautiful view.. We loved our mornings in the Poly tpv with looking at the lake and the castle, etc.. I think the main reason it is so much less appealing for this trip, is because we will have just spent 7 nights in a verandah room on the Fantasy...so we'll be seeing plenty of water.lol I'm going to try to chill out and just wait and hope that the dates open back up!!!

We will still be able to see the electrical water pageant from a tpv, right? I hope!

You're welcome and, yes, you should be able to see the water pageant on Seven Seas Lagoon - in front of GF - from your TPV room. Hope you get the room category you want.:flower3:

The view of EWP from a TPV CR room would be from a greater distance -

Of course, you'd also have this:

Great pics!!!
So basically you're saying that I should just go back to the Poly so I can have both.....lol j/k
Is the view of the castle close enough to see Celebrate the Magic? We could not see that from Poly. My son loved watching the water pageant in his pjs..although one night we did watch from the pool.. but mostly- Waking up to seeing the castle and space mountain was so neat with my son.. he'd wake up and go running to the balcony every morning. I wanted him to experience that again, but from a different perspective, and again- we won't be utilizing the pool. I'm still 50/50 on if we are going to attend Mickey's Christmas Party..if it's same nights as previous years then it doesn't fit well in our itinerary. So, I thought it would be neat to see some of it from our (hoping for) tpv balcony. But- fireworks are something we see all of the time..the water parade is not... OMG my brain is about to explode.lol

We are staying for 3 nights. 1 of which I hoped to be at MK, leave before the Christmas party, and go back to the room early..the other 2 we will be at MK and HS.

Edit--- My main reasons for CR- convenience of being in the hotel with restaurants, drink stations, monorail since it will be cold outside. And- the view.

I don't thing GF outer building or Poly would be as enjoyable that time of year.

I've never seen Celebrate the Magic but you can certainly see the castle change colors. (You can see that it's pink/violet in that last photo.)

Based on what you said, I think you should keep trying for the TPV. Your son will definitely wake up excited to rush to the balcony! He'll see Space Mountain, Astro orbiter, and lots more (Splash Mtn, the Castle, the monorail on its track) And you should be able to see the EWP, albeit from afar.
The monorail running through the Tower will also be very exciting for him, I'm sure. pixiedust:

Here is a basic photo from room, no zoom, during the day:
