Just wondering if anyone had experience in the Garden Wings at the CR . . .

What did you think of the location in comparison to being in the tower? Where the Garden Wings more noiser than being in the tower?

Any help is greatly appreciated! :D

I have never stayed in the tower before, but last summer we stayed in the South Garden wing. It was the most noise we have ever had at any resort. (We have stayed at 9 different disney resorts). The daytime was pretty quiet, but the walls must be paper thin. We could hear ever word from the room next to us. Not just hear talking, but could have taken part in the conversation! We thought the resort was very nice though and my kids really enjoyed the pool and renting the boats. Perhaps the tower since it was built differently, would have thicker wall and a little quieter.

We've stayed twice in the tower and once in the wings. I agree that the wings were very noisy. We were on the third floor in the North Wing and I could clearly hear conversations going on in the hallway if I was standing in the bathroom. Lots of running going on in the hallway too. We were on the 12th floor (before it became the Club level) on both our tower visits, about 4 rooms from the end away from Chef Mickey's and I never heard a sound. I might add that all 3 visits were in late January or early February... very slow times.

We stayed in the North Garden Wing in Jan 03 and experienced no noise from other rooms at all, even from the connecting room with the rest of our family group (with the doors closed, of course). I can remember some noisier rooms at the Polynesian on past trips. One weekday evening, DW and I walked the grounds and the south wing seemed to be almost deserted- there were probably a total of 8 vehicles in the lot. Talk about quiet!

The two times we've stayed in the North GW, we were surprised at how quite it was. We were there in January when the occupancy rate was low, but we were also there in October during the golf tournament when the hotel was very busy, and found our room (8123) to be quiet.

I will be trying the Tower soon but we have stayed in the South Garden. We heard considerable noise. I attributed the type of noise to being at hotel with many, many families; children running in the halls, bouncing off the bed and hitting the floor, running in the room, etc. We did not hear conversations in the room next door or footsteps from rooms above us. Other resorts have seemed quieter but that may have been luck of draw of neighbors.

We loved the Garden rooms. We could easily walk from our room to the bay and enjoy the view and wildlife (birds, ducks). This is nice in the morning at sunrise with a cup of coffee or watching the boats on the bay in the evening. It gives us the feeling of being away from the action. Also, the walk to the tower was not very long.

I agree that the North Garden Wing was very noisy during our May '02 stay. Although it was generally noisy in the hallways, the people above us obviously had uncontrollable young children. The front desk had more complaints than ours and they had to make two trips to their room, the last being at 3am. Overall there was quite a bit of noise which we were not expecting. We were extremely pleased with POFQ and the quiet atmosphere in November '02. CR was nice but we opted to stay somewhere else on our subsequent visits. We stayed at CR in the first place through SoG and have found that we enjoy POFQ more.

We were in the N. wing July '01 first floor, facing the parking lot(LOVED THOSE FIREWORKS AND CASTLE VIEW)...we thought it was great! No noise unless you count the ducks quacking at our patio doors for crackers!:p We thought it was wonderful, but we have not stayed in the tower so I can't really compare. All I know is was a crowded time over the 4th and we were fine. There were some kids running down the hall occasionally and you could hear that...but I expect that at WDW! If I could afford the wing rooms again I would do it in a heartbeat, the room was huge. Have a great time deciding, lucky you getting to go! BTW, I think we were room 8153, in excellent condition at that time

We stayed june 28 to july 5 2002 and it was are first time at the CR. We were happy to get north wing first floor with a patio that had a wonderful view of the lake. I never had a complaint about the noise from other guests. But yet again I was not listening for it either. The only complaint that I ever had was that our stay was not longer :Pinkbounc

I have stayed in the tower 4 times on four different floors - and every single time all we heard was the monorail going through the building until 2 am (summer time w/longer MK hours) you could hear the announcements and it whizzing threw the building. We made a comment to someone we saw in the hall (another guest) about hearing it and they said the exact same thing- how obnoxious it was.

We have stayed in the garden twice, I personally think the garden rooms are not taken care of as well, but it could just be we got two bum rooms...

As far as I know the construction was exactly the same in the tower as in the garden, they were both made off-site and trucked in.

Oh and one other thing - there are too many people from NJ and NY there ---something I go on vacation to get away from :p
