contemporary garden wing rooms

Is there parking around by the GW or do you park in the main Contemporary lot?

We enjoyed our room in the garden wing. If you watch you are often able to get them at a decent rate(compared to the tower rooms). CR is not our favorite resort but man I wish I was there now!!!!
It's been helpful to read everyone's reviews. I am considering staying at the CR in September after Labor Day. I stayed there before, but it's been several years! I have read that other people share your sentiment that it's not their favorite resort. Can you please tell me a bit more about things about CR that can be improved? I mostly want convenient access to Magic Kingdom and I am also considering Grand Floridian.

If I recall correctly, there's a covered walkway the whole way from the main building to the first garden wing building, and from there they are all connected by interior hallways...which is a bonus above GF or Poly. Poly will always have my preferred theming, but the savings for a garden wing room was hard to argue with!
You have a great time, too. I love having that short walk to the Magic Kingdom.
Thanks for sharing your take on the GF! How long would you say that walk was from the Garden Wing building to Magic Kingdom? I'm not particularly picky about theming but I'm really interested in the convenience to MK!

Our stay was perfect. We usually take trips that are 10 days or longer and the theming is not our favorite. We spend a good amount of time at the resort and we prefer a more beachy feel or in December we lean towards WL. I can't think of anything that needed changed. As I said I wish I was there now!!! Have a great trip and do not hesitate on the Garden a Wing rooms. They were very peaceful.

Hmmm. I think it only took us about 10/12 minutes from MK to the main building…so maybe 15/20ish from garden wing to the entrance of MK. For adults. Have not timed it with children.

So I haven't stayed in either and thus my opinions may not make much of a difference, but I have a memory of staying at Ft Wilderness and taking the boat to and from Magic Kingdom past the Contemporary. A few time on that route we passed by the garden wing rooms and quite often I saw people out on their patio or balcony, just sitting and reading a book or a magazine and watching the boats go by. For whatever reason, that memory sticks in my mind because I thought that it would be so nice and relaxing to sit outside on a nice day, looking at the water and the boats while sipping a drink and enjoying a good book. If you are planning to stay for a while and are going to enjoy some "off" time in the room, it might be a really nice option. It looks like from some of the rooms you may also get to watch the monorail go by as well! If you have transportation loving kids they may enjoy the view as well!

I have not stayed in the Garden Wing rooms but they've always appealed to me. :)
One day, I'm going to stay there!

Unless you have mobility issues, the garden wing is just as good as any room on the tower not looking to the park. Rooms are all the same inside with same amenities except the balconies that are Juliet type. On the first floor is great that you get a patio. We had it and it was good to go out and sit in the patio chair looking the scenery.

I stay at the garden wing I like it. Only I had trouble climbing in and out the bed it was to high for me on my last visit.

Fun fact... if you book the "Garden Wing Deluxe" room, those are on the corner "elbow" of the Garden Wing building. They are basically a double-sized room for a few dollars more. There's only 3... first second and third floors.

Just stayed in one this summer and loved the location and set up.
