Contemporary garden wing or 1br old key west for 4 adults

My mom was originally going with just my sister, so they booked contemporary. Now 2 more of us are going and a 1br at old key west is available for a few hundred cheaper. Mom was looking forward to monorail hotel but this seems like a better fit for 4 adults. What do you think?

They are both very nice in very different ways.

Most OKW buildings do not have elevators, so you may have to walk up 1 or 2 flights of stairs to get to your villa.
OKW will have (1) King bed in the master, and the others would have to sleep on the pull out sofa (queen sized) and/or the twin pull-out chair.

If she is really looking forward to using the monorail, the multiple bus stops in OKW may not be the best choice.

But having a spacious villa with full-sized laundry room, full kitchen with a nice table, plus a huge balcony with table and chairs is nice if you want to chill at your room.

While you will have two separate rooms, kitchen and washer dryer at OKW, I, personally, wouldn't want to sleep on a pull-out for an entire trip. With Contemporary, you will get two queen beds and a day bed, so really 3 real bed surfaces (I think the daybeds are much more comfortable than the DVC pull-outs). You will also be a lot closer to MK. I think only you will know what is most important to you. The separate space with kitchen and washer/dryer or the room with more real beds and close proximity to MK. If you choose CR, I would just suggest requesting first floor so you have a nice patio.

I agree with all the advice given! OKW is wonderful and the most spacious villas on property! But, traveling will surely take longer. There is, however, the added bonus of a boat to DS.

We loved OKW. The one bedroom has so much space to spread out and the W/D in unit is such a huge bonus. The kitchen is nice also. For me, the only thing CR has on OKW is convenience and more on site dining options.

I would vote for Contemporary. I never pick a vacation hotel based on the ability to cook and wash clothes. I do enough of that when I am not on vacation. Plus - I know where those chores would be expected to land.

We have had 4 adults in the Contemporary many times. It is fine. Just remove all hair styling products/tools from the bathroom and there shouldn't be a problem. Same goes for sunscreen application - keep that out of the bathroom.

The convenience to the park is an overwhelmingly good feature.
