Contemporary Dessert Party

I searched but couldn't find anything about the Dessert Parties at the Contemp. My fiance said he's would actually LIKE to have one there, which is a miracle that he is decisive on something. Does anyone have any photos or information about doing the party there?

hmmm I am not sure. I am pretty sure you can use the marinathere but I am not sure you can see the castle? The best thing to do for this one is call dftw directly or the contemporary's catering facility which I am sure is the facility which would cater this type of party. If you find out any info let us know!

I don't have any experience planning this type of party, but the last few times we were at the contemporary, we saw an entire part outside the marina roped off for some amazing parties! I mean decorated so pretty and some yummy looking food! The last one we saw was in April-that was an island bash-with steel drums--must have been a corporate affair--

Oh, 2002Disneybride, my dream is to have an event with the steel drum band. I was at a corporate party a few years ago where the steel drum band played on the beach of the Yacht / Beach Club. It was magical, ~sigh.~

Wdwprincess03, I don't believe I've ever seen any photos of a Contemporary dessert party. I know that the Contemporary is a convention resort and thus must host some very fun convention parties, but for some reason I never hear of it being considered for wedding events (outside of the Napa & Sonoma dining rooms). However, after reading what 2002Disneybride wrote, it definitely sounds intriguing.

Here is an aerial image of the Magic Kingdom Resorts, courtesy of Google Earth: click here. If you can make out the Contemporary Resort in that photo, you’ll see that the marina is on the backside of the resort. Because of its location, it does not have a view of the Magic Kingdom. I don't know how the marina location would work out for a dessert party since most people prefer locations with fireworks views (at least a majority of the FTW couples prefer fireworks views for their dessert parties).

It will be interesting to see what you can find out about the Contemporary Resort. The front side of the resort has an excellent view of the Magic Kingdom, so perhaps there is a location there that the resort uses for their parties. I can’t wait to read all about it. Please share with us what you find out.

Yes, I thought the steel drums were awesome...in fact my DH and I found ourselves "exploring" the resort just so we could get a sneak peek and listen to the music! I always love to see the creative things that are done by Disney!

You could always view the Electrical Water Pageant...a classic since 1971 that most people have never seen.
