In 1995 my husband and I went to a Christmas show at the Contemporary Resort. Do they still have it there? How do you get tickets? Thanks

That must have been the Jolly Holidays Dinner Show. It's been cancelled for quite a few years now. Don't remember the last year.
Now, some people do the Candlelight Processional Dinner Package at Epcot.

Oh, sweet memories. We did the Jolly Holiday Dinner Show at CR in December 1994. It was an awesome show. So glad to say we did it.

We really wish they would bring this back. It was such a great show and the food was wonderful. We went to the show at least 3 different times. It is a shame that they no longer offer it.

We have since done the Hoop-de-doo and the luau a few times - but nothing really compares to that dinner.

I also do not remember how long ago they stopped it but I remember the big banner announcing it was their last year and we were so sad.

People wrote in, but that changed nothing.

OK - just to balance this thread!

We thought the show was fine.....but was not worth what it cost in my opinion! We enjoyed the MVMCP and the HoopDeDoo much more. Probably even liked Mickey's Backyard Barbecue even better....

It was fine - but not great.

No flaming - just wanted to balance the thread! HA!

We went to this show in 1997 (probably 1997...)

I agree- it was a fine show, but pretty pricey. It reminded me of dinner theater or a wedding reception or a banquet more than anything. You were seated at big dinner tables with other guests, there was a big stage in the center of the room, and servers came round and served you as the entertainers did their thing.

I just looked at the picture daughter and self had taken at the JH's paarty that was in 1998

I enjoyed the show but my husband and I were seated at a large table filled with members of the same family. They acted as if they were in their kitchen at home and literally ate everything on the table barely giving hubby and I a chance to eat. They ran out of food before the "lazy susan" came our way and when a CM refilled the food the family was done eating and they started getting SECONDS!!

Needless to say I felt very un-Disney and wanted to clobber the morons. We got a few crumbs of food and dinner was over! Too expensive to repeat that again and we were not that sad when the show was cancelled in the following years.

We did the show in 1996 and it was wonderful! we ended up sitting with people from the town I grew up in in NH. The show was amazing the food and service great.. I thought it was amazing that the fed so many folks at once! Wish it was still going on!

We thought it was part of the charm - sitting with others and getting to know people. One couple even invited us to their wedding months later. We never ran out of food OR wine. They had 2 different kinds of wine. Not a bad seat in the house and even the dessert was different. First year we got all dressed up but then realized people came in shorts. So after that we were nice and comfortable. We also enjoy MVMCP but that is in the park and different from a dinner show or a bbq. I guess I grew up with dinner shows so it kinda brought back some nice memories. I too was amazed at how they could feed all of those people at the same time - had to be hundreds and hundreds of people. Plus I think part of the charm for us was we also stayed at the hotel so we could just walk over. No bus or boat so it seemed pretty easy. And, way back when, it came as part of our package deal so I do not know what the price was. I guess we were pretty lucky the 3 times that we went not to be seated with some rude people. I probably would have had an urge to be rude back!
