Contemporary Booking Question

I'm looking to book a Theme Park view room at the Contemporary from June 21, 2009 to June 27, 2009. Unfortunately, when I try to book either by phone or on the WDW website, the rooms are unavailable.

Does anyone know if Disney is having issues with their reservation system, or if something is going on at the Contemporary that week?

Last year I was able to book my vacation for the same week in June well into October. It seems odd that all of the Theme Park view rooms would already be booked. Also, there are not any Bay Lake view rooms available that week either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm not sure, but I know my dd booked a Mk view at CR for her honeymoon last month, and was given a standard view, until she complained. (She paid extra for a MK view) So they gave her credit for the extra charge and switched her over to a MK view at a honeymoon suite at GF.

Not really sure either but as told to me by CR Resort Fan, the Theme Park views book up really fast. I would just keep trying as people cancel all the time. I hope you are able to get the room/view that you want.

If you are having trouble getting a reservation this far out it's because of a convention group that has blocked alot of rooms or that the Magic Kingdom View is very popular and sells out very fast. However since your dates are far out I am sure if you keep trying a room will eventually become available.

We just tried booking Tower MK view rooms for our honeymoon 18-24 May 09 and they were all booked up, save for Club level...we unfortunately settled for a garden wing room instead.

I'm betting its the same case with your dates....only thing you can do is keep checking back to see if something frees up.

I've been watching the rooms at CR and 2 weeks ago there was nothing available for our dates. This past weekend -- rooms at every level. I think maybe they must release them little by little. I'm just hoping when we go to book our trip in December there's rooms available. Especially since DH wants a MK View CL room.

Thanks for all your help everyone! I really appreciate it. I guess I'll try to wait it out. Our second choice as far as dates was August 2, 2009 to August 8, 2009. My only fear is that if I wait to see of a MK view room opens up for June that August will be booked as well. I'll probably just wait a week or so and if nothing opens up I'll just book it for August. At least I'll get what I want, just different dates. Thanks again!

Just wanted to give everyone an update. After I was unable to book an MK view room at the Contemporary from June 21st to June 27th, I decided to book a room for August 2nd to August 8th. I have been checking the website daily to see if an MK view room opened up for the June dates. Well, today when I checked one was available, so I called and made the modification to my existing reservation to get the June dates instead. The call was very quick and now I have the original dates that I wanted.

After the call, I was curious to see if any MK view rooms were still available, so I went back and checked on the website. However, an MK view was not available for those dates, so there must have only been one room that opened up due to a cancellation that I was able to book today. Last week a Bay Lake view room opened up and was gone the very next day, so I had hope that eventually an MK view would open up for those days as well and it ended up working out. If you can't get what you want, keep trying!
