Having never stayed at CR, what are the best rooms to request? Is the noise from Chef Mickey's really that bad? We sleep with a white noise maker so I wouldn't see that as a problem. Are there any rooms at CR to not request?

If you get up before 7, then you will be fine. If you don't and are on the side of the resort that CMs is on, then yes it will bother you. It bothered us. We stayed there and it was a relaxing short trip so we didn't wake up early, or I can say we tried not to wake up early. This is the only character breakfast that I actually felt apart of and we weren't even there. Its the only one that I know of/have been to that the kids scream in (encouraged by the CMs). The noise is definitely not the same as white noise, nope not in the slightest :lmao:
If you are in bed to you can also feel the monorail too - we were on that side.
If we ever stay there again, which isn't likely since we like the boardwalk area better and mostly do DVC stays, I would request a room on the opposite side of the monorail and the opposite side of CM.

I never heard a thing! I'm very sensitive to noise to the point where my husband thinks I'm irrational, and I never heard any noise from Chef Mickey. We were located on the same side as the restaurant, but on the CL floor, facing Bay Lake. If you aren't staying CL, I'd just ask for a higher floor.

Our two visits have been MK View room, middle of the Tower, high floor, in an odd numbered room so that we could lay in bed and watch the Castle change colors throughout the night. Pure magic!!

We wouldn't hesitate to stay in a Bay Lake View room on a future visit. I think I would always request a mid Tower room on a higher floor.

Staying at the CR is WONDERFUL!!!!

White noise as in a static sound?
Why?

Everyone in our house uses one. They are wonderful for blocking out the random sounds and stuff.

We had a mid tower, even number room and it was amazing! We were CL but the positioning of the room was amazing. We never heard CM or the monorail

I stayed in the tower i believe 7th floor magic kingdom view, I heard nothing! Enjoy the Contemporary it was such a wonderful resort!

they aren't using what they did at first - so the noise is not nearly as bad.

they are using a different white noise. You don't realize it unless you go to another resort after staying at CR for a while.

I say the garden deluxe wing room. The space is amazing and the location we find is much better getting to and from the pool area. These rooms price a tad bit less than a tower bay lake view. It was quiet we found while giving nice views of the lake and pool.

Are you saying that they pipe white noise into he rooms? sorry for the silly question.....

We always book a MK view room and request an odd # because I love to lay in bed and watch the castle change colors. We have always stayed on the CM end of the hotel and the noise doesn't bother us at all. :thumbsup2 But I am an extremely light sleeper who users ear plugs at night and we are up by 7am each morning because we start with an early ADR each morning.

How & when do you put in requests? I've been wondering about this for a while. Do you call before your arrival, ask at check in, or online check in. We booked theme park tower, I would love to get the odd numbered room & watch the fireworks, & castle change colors.

We just returned from our first visit to CR. We stayed on the Magic Kingdom side and to tell you the truth, I didn't like our room location. We were on the 6th floor almost directly over the convention center. Yes, we could see the castle and fireworks which was cool BUT you also see all the traffic and the roof too. I told my brother (who got us a cast member discount) I'd rather stay on the Bay Lake side if in the tower or a standard room w/ a water view. It was fun staying in the tower seeing the monorail but I found myself wishing we'd have saved the money. Chef Mickey wasn't loud at all from our location directly across from it IMO.

I'm a little confused with the Contemporary tower map layout. Some people say they request odd # or even # rooms, but according to the room map I'm looking at the rooms are numbered 1-24 on one side and 25-48 on the other. What difference would it make whether I request an odd or even number room?

anyone have pics of a std garden view room in the garden wing????

we are torn between one of those rooms or BWI or YC.....cant afford tower room with 4 adults and full deluxe pkg....

The last time I stayed at the CR I was on the 6th floor, MK side. There is some vibration for those rooms as the monorail trains pass under them.
