Is it typically more difficult to get a std. room at the CR now with all the construction? I assume the only area with std. rooms is the south wing...is that correct? We stayed at the CR a couple years ago in the north wing and really liked it and am worrying that our experience may not be quite the same if we choose to go back.

Chances are if the Contemporary is sold out and you are trying to make a reservation way in advance it would have to do with a convention that is booked there. There are also standard rooms in the Tower besides the South Garden Wing, so the construction might have some effect with the loss of the North Garden Wing rooms.
