Assuming that big building is DVC - is it likely they would start selling before it is complete/ready to use? If so, does anyone think they would offer developer points like they have done with AKV (and SSR, I think)? Where would it be likely that they would offer those developer points?

Just wishful thinking on my part - I like to daydream at work about how I might use my points.

Considering they keep pushing back any announcements, ad they have plenty of AKV inventory to sell while they finish the Contemporary building, they may not see a need for those developer points.

I'd sure like to think they'd be selling it soon. They started selling AKV before it was complete in Jambo House.

To be honest I'm not quite sure why they are waiting to sell Contemporary, but I'm sure the the powers to be know why. There spending the money to build it, but there not recouping the money. I'd like to think cash is king, but Disney isn't collecting it yet.

another site says DVC has enough sales for this year.

Disney year starts in Sept - so Sept or Oct - and Oct is looking more likely - might be a great time for an annoucement.

somebody is a little worry about sales for next year and without a new resort they may not get the sales (yea like that is going to happen)

wanted to see the models while down there this Sept - aren't going again until next may....

I would love to be able to see something when we make our trip mid october.

Developer points are points owned by the developer (DVC sales) I am not sure how DVC gets those developer points in a noe "sold-out" SSR.
When DVC started selling AKV Kidani contracts (not open until May 2009, meaning the buyer would not be able to use any points before May 2009) they (DVC) wanted to sweeten the deal by offering some currently available SSR points, thus the "developer points"
They are "special" only because the owner does not pay any 2008 dues (cannot pay dues on a unit that does not exist, yet) and perhaps there have been a few cases of extra, bonus points (more than the yearly contract amount)

Without developer points, you would be buying a BLT contract, but could not use any of those new points until BLT is ready for occupancy.

If perceived demand was high enough, DVC would not have to offer any developer points for BLT and/or use another perk like $ discount, park tickets...

Developer Ponts are points that are controlled by DVC in unsold units or points reacquired throgh ROFR. They can be used by the developer for promotions, rentals through CRO, as prizes, etc.

Basically, the current promotion is if you by AKV, you can not make a reservation using YOUR points until your unit is built and ready for occupancy, so DVC gives you the same number of developers points that can be used at SSR the first year.

You don't have to you your developer's points at SSR. I used mine at BCV.

Anyone know where I can get info on pre-construction sales BayLake??????????? No announcement made yet because they are still selling AKV and SSV?

Thnks very much for any info you can provide!:goodvibes :goodvibes

When I asked about GCV's my guide referenced their fiscal year starting in October, too. He didn't say that's when it would start selling, but why state that if he wasn't giving me a vague answer?
I think we can all hope for October for GCV sales and Contemporary announcement. At least I hope....

Some people do have to use their developers' points at SSR. It depends on when you received them.

Those who purchased more recently received developers' points that are only good for SSR reservations.

Since SSR is now reportedly sold out and all of the inventory (except for the portion Disney retained for administrative purposes) belongs to members, there should be a lot less developers' points available to use for incentives. I doubt there will be that type of incentive offered for BLT - if it is indeed ever announced as a DVC resort.

They are actually good at SSR, or DLR resorts...

We live closer to Cali, so DLR works for us.

Now to just make a decision!!!

I wants it.

If we are possible interested in BayLake, should we take a tour of
AKL to for example see what a 2 BR is like?????

Thanks very much!

I believe the current tour is at SSR where you can tour SSR and model AKV rooms. (and supposedly behind closed doors, models of BLT rooms)
That would give you an idea of 2 different 2BR units. There is no guarantee that BLT would be the same. (I believe that AKV Kidani 2BR would have 3 bathrooms and sleeps up to 9, every other 2BR has 2 bathrooms and sleeps up to 8)

Best Way to Arrange Tour in advance? Call the phone number on the Disney Vacation Club Website?

About how long does the tour last? Do you get a small "gift" for attending?

Thanks very much!

You can call the number on the website, or while at WDW stop at any DVC kiosk, they are located in every park and in every hotel lobby. I would allow about 2 hours for the tour, a little longer if you are interested in purchasing.

There are small "gift" that hey give from time to time. Nothing of any major value. It varies. Sometimes it is some fastpasses for your party, sometimes it is a small gift card, sometimes a Disney meal voucher. Everyone gets some ice cream after to tour. :)

A van will pick you p and drop yo off anywhere on property, so you can go directly to/from a park or your hotel.
