Hello to all and thank you for taking the time to read my post (and hopefully respond). I have had a trip to the Contemporary planned for quite a while, but I just found out that a 14th floor king room became available. As a kid, I always wanted to stay there and I know they only have a few of these rooms, so I took it. Many trips have been spent in the tower, but I have no clue as to what I should expect on the 14th Floor. I have been scouring the web for information and I’m hoping that some of you Disney experts can help me out. Basically, what can you tell me about the concierge and rooms? Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again

We stayed 14th floor about 3 weeks ago in a king size bed room. Theres not much to say except that its awesome! Im sure my DF will be by here soon with a better report. Trust me, the room was worth every penny and then some. I hope to stay there again!

Thanks for your reply. I'm hoping that my trip turns out like yours and not some of the poor reviews that I am reading. The Contemporary has always been great to me though, so I'm sure this trip will be one to remember.

Ready for it??

This will be the view from your HUGE balcony :goodvibes

I loved the king room. We had tons of extra space. We would spend some afternoons and late nights sitting on the floor playing gin rummy, drinking wine and ordering several shrimp cocktails. The service was above par. The concierge staff, mousekeeping and room service all seemed to go way out for us. We were going to wait for renovations to be done on the rooms but decided to go for it anyways and we were NOT disappointed. Although we didn't try much, the servings in the lounge were plentiful and yummy. My only complaint, which relaly isn't a complaint is that in the afternoon we'd ask for a beer but were told they were only to be given out in the evening service. We got the anyways cuz they would "sneak" 'em for us :teeth: I'm sure DF can attest that I was never a big fan of the contemporary but boy was I wrong. I'm in love with the resort and the room!

For an extra special touch, have a bottle of champagne (it's extra magical if you opt for the Iron Horse Fairy Tale Civee) set up to enjoy during the fireworks. :goodvibes

what an awesome picture! I just booked CR Tower MK view for 2006. I can't wait!
did they really have beer at the lounge?? :earseek: what kind? I have never heard that, only ever heard wine and cordials. DH only drinks beer so I never considered 14th floor. :scratchin But if they have beer, it could very well be worth the extra $.

Every concierge we've stayed at offered beer starting in the afternoon. Beers I remember having are Bud Light, Heineken, Amstel Light, Budweiser, and umm I know I'm missing something...;)

Eitherway, its a definite plus for us going concierge...

We are staying on the 12th Floor "Light" Concierge - can anyone tell me what that's like? I've been staying in the Tower Rooms for years now but never stayed concierge.

Thank you for your replies. It is great to hear from people who enjoyed their stay so much. I've read some reviews by people who thought the rooms were disgusting, so it is great to see that you loved your room. Thanks again!

JCAMACAM I will bump up my post from when we stayed on the 12th floor, we stayed there last month from June 16-20, and it was wonderful.

During our other stays in concierge beer was always offered starting in the afternoon. Either it was served outside or you just had to ask. Our whole reason for first staying concierge was for the beer :earboy2: The wine offerings aren't all that great. Just your typical white, blush and red.

At first glance, the shower stall (there was no bath tub in our room) looks kinda icky but it's just in need of refurbishment. I didn't encounter any mold, dirt, or mildew. I think it's just the blah yellow color of the bathroom walls that give it the appearance. In my opinion the rooms aren't as nice in decor when compared to say BW, GF or Poly, but the size and location of the room make up for it. Once refubishment is done, the contemporary is going to be one hot spot! I saw the refurb pics and was blown away at how sleek it looked. :goodvibes

I'll be there in one month for our first time 14th floor! I can't wait. DH will love to know he'll be able to get beer!
