We are staying at FW cabins, and have one morning we are trying to figure out. We've already got our TS ADR's all set. And the day we leave I think we will have a CS breakfast left over. We can ferry over to either RF or CC since FW doesn't have CS breakfast. Which do you recommend and why? Thanks!

I have not been to Contempo Cafe but I would choose it over Roaring Forks in a heartbeat! I stayed at WL this past May/June and Roaring Forks has an incredibly limited menu. They also keep their hot food sitting in pans on a hot plate. So you don't get freshly prepared hot food. When I stood in line and someone wanted chicken nuggets and fries, it was handed to the customer. They decided they did not want it and the CM actually put the chicken and fries back in the hot pans :scared1: I will admit that I saw the customer receive it, they put it on their tray but did not touch any of the food, then they decided they didn't want it and handed it back. Even if they didn't touch it, the CM should NEVER have put it back in the 'hot pans'. But even if that didn't happen, the food just is not that good at Roaring Forks. I'd go to Contempo Cafe. In fact, I've been wanting to try it - it sounds unique and good!

Honestly, while the food is OK at Contempo (mostly the same old stuff as other CS places, and still sitting in heated pans, just out of view of the guests :) ), the service is freaking awful at best, IMO... last time I ate there, it took them 20 minutes to get me a turkey sandwich during lunch when I was the only person there (one that is obviously pre-made, and they just heat up)!

Breakfast offerings are similar, but both places have unique items that might sway you (RF with the yogurt/parfait stuff, CC with breakfast burrito or sandwich). Also, CC seems to get really busy when there is a convention at the Contemporary, or when a ton of people show up to Chef Mickey's without ADRs. Either way, though, you'll be fine :)

RF is awful and completely understaffed. We went there before catching ME to the airport and I stood in line for a sandwich for about twenty minutes because they had one person working that counter and a man in front of me was trying to use up the rest of his CS credits before he left for the airport. The flatbreads are greasy and inedible. I've never been to Contempo, but I can't imagine anything worse than RF!

Well, we are planning to go to DTD that day before we head to Clearwater for the 2nd half of our vacation. Should we just eat a CS breakfast there?? I saw WPE and EoS have CS breakfast pizza and sandwiches. And Pollo Campero. Anyone eaten breakfast there?

I've never eaten breakfast at DTD but ate dinner at WP and it was fantastic! Have heard great things about EoS as well. I have a feeling those are better bets than RF and CC!

I'd go for WPE over either of the resort CS. In a heartbeat.

Yeah, I'm thinking quality would be better at DTD, but my problem is I'm betting we won't get there in time for breakfast. We are attending MNSSHP the night before...Halloween night...so will probably sleep in a little bit and check out time is 11 am. Based on what we have booked and all, I'm actually thinking we will have 2 CS credits each left for that day. The original thought was get a quick bite at Roaring Fork or Contempo, check out, head to DTD, shop, use any left over snack credits at Goofy's and have a late lunch at WPE before heading to Clearwater.

So, I'm still leaning towards either RF or CC simply due to convenience that morning. I've never been to WL and was thinking it might be nice to check it out, even if the food at RF isn't all that good.

We stayed at WL in Dec 2010 and CR in Aug of 2011...so we've tried both Roaring Fork and Contempo Cafe. Roaring Fork wins hands down. We found there to be more options at RF + the quality was better. The RF CMs were also WONDERFUL! CC wasn't totally horrible, but we actually had a day during our Aug trip where we chose to go to WL and do RF for a snack over staying put at CR and just go to CC.

Have you thought about Capt. Cook's at the Poly? I'm always tempted to go there for breakfast when we stay at BLT. Can't get Tonga Toast at any other CS.

Yes, that is definitely an option. I loved the Tonga Toast at Kona when we stayed at the poly in 05. I suppose I will print out the 3CS menus and see what the majority wants before we head out that morning. That or I pick and they get what they get. hee hee They are all relying on me anyways since I'm the one doing all the planning. :lmao:

On our last trip we stayed at CR and had breakfast a few times at CC and loved it. The breakfast sandwich was yummy and big. I could only eat half of it. My DD had the waffles topped with bananas and caramel and they were to die for,

We had other things as well and it was all good:goodvibes

I haven't had breakfast at DTD but I have heard great things about WPE.

Had breakfast at WPE on the marketplace side of DTD on Thursday! They open at 9am and it was great. We too spent our last day at DTD spending down credits. At WPE we had a great breakfast pocket (eggs, cheese, fresh veggies in pizza dough), which was huge and came with rosemary potatoes. The potatoes alone were a cut above resort CS. We also got the cornflake crusted french toast. It came with three big pieces. Only order that if you have a serious sweet tooth, because it's coated with cinnamon sugar. Best of all? WPE has real coffee, no nescafe!

As for the others, Contempo has far more seating than RF, but the food is similar.
