Contemplating Battery Grip for Camera

Wondering if the extra battery power is worth the weight. Opinions?

Have it, Love it! The extra battery is nice. I also have big man hands.

YUP! I never take mine off. And I love having the portrait shutter release button as well.

I always use a battery grip ... Not just for the extra horsepower but it serves as a great stabilizer when hand holding your camera when not using a tripod.

You may also want to purchase an inexpensive hand grip for your camera, similar to those used for video recorders ... It gives your hand a break from the death grip on your camera.

I would get an extra battery pack.

But, I always keep a fresh pack of Double AA's (10 or 20 pack) with me for my Speed lights and spare for my Camera. I purchased a small AA battery carry case from the Container Store that holds about 12 AA's and keep it in my bag.

Not for me. I have smallish hands, though, so I don't want the extra bulk or weight. My K-7 battery will run a full day to day and a half in WDW, however, depending on flash usage (very light and usually turned down anyway). I simply don't need it. I carry an extra battery in my bag and charge the drained one overnight in the hotel and always have two with me - both of which can last a full day easily. If your battery doesn't last as long or you have big hands it might be worth it for you.
