Contemp renovations, WOW!!!!!!

All I can say is what a HUGE improvement. We have been planning our vacation for next June and we needed a resort for the last weekend. When my DH responded he suggested the WL or CT all I could think of was the awful blue paint in the old rooms. I happened to look at Deb's site and found these great pics of the new rooms.

The kids really liked the flat screen tv.

I love the new decor. Hated the old it was too splashy for the "contemporary" feel, felt like more tropical.

It looks great now.

they are currently working on the Cont.

if you mean June this year - sorry you will still get the old rooms.

now june of next year you might get lucky and get one of the rehab rooms.

Yes I mean June 2006. On Deb's site it seems to indicate the tower will be complete by then, now the wings maybe not but I won't stay in the wings!!!

So when will renovations be completely finished? I have a trip coming up in February and I'm trying to decide between the BWI or the CR..

They are currently working on the South Wing rooms. Some people have been told by CRO that the 14th floor concierage are also going to be done soon. They are planning on working on the North Wing right after the July 4th holiday. The whole renovation is scheduled to be done sometime in 2006. I haven't heard specifically how they are scheduling the tower room renovations.

By the way, we loved our North Wing ground floor room. It was so easy to walk to MK from there.

The new decor looks really cool. (Of course, I'm probably the only person alive who kind of liked the present decor!)

I just wish the would do something with the exterior of the wings. Those buildings are so tacky & run down looking from the monorail. To me the wing buildings & general grounds of the Contemporary are the ugliest thing on property. Gotta love the original building though - the great mural & the monorail running through is classic Disney to me.
