We're staying a week at Cocoa Beach and decided to take a small 2 night stay at wdw. Either contemporary garden wing for $563 or hilton bonnet creek for $260, which should we pick? Thinking if we pick hilton, we could go to the park for a day with the savings.

If you can do more with saving on room I'd say Hilton, If $'s don't matter then cont

The Garden Wing rooms aren't that special at the Contemporary in my opinion (I've stayed in these twice). Not being in the main buidling takes something away from the experience. It's the Tower rooms with the balcony and view with the monerail running right through your building that are really cool -- but don't get we wrong I don't stay in those unless someone else is paying (e.g. work seminar that happens to be there). They just aren't in my budget. If it were me and I was paying for it, I'd go for the Hilton.

CR Resort Fan 4, The Bay Club Atrium building looks fabulous! Have you stayed there before? If so tell us about it. I belong to TUG2.net, a timeshare users group and the Disney condos always get such great ratings. With the Bay Club being so new, though, no reviews have been written about it on that site yet. I saw that there was an enclosed walkway between these and the main tower building which I thought was nice.

To each his own opinion but i happened to love the garden view rooms! We had a patio which overlooked Bay Lake and were steps to the pool. Honestly I dont think I would be happy stuck in a big building like the tower, this is only my opinion. We have kids and this was the absolute nicest setup for us (we also got upgraded to garden view which was so nice). It was great to go outside of our patio and sit there with a nice view and easy access to the pool area. We even saw electric water parade from our room.

I believe you mean Bay Lake Tower which is the correct name, however I have not stayed there.

I guess I was just wondering if the Bay Lake Tower condos are as wonderful as they look. Do they have the great views the tower rooms have? They really look perfect -- The great views and convience of the monerail plus probably a really nice condo. What a great addition to the Disney Vacation Club. Condo facilities are so nice to have with any stay longer than a few nights. I have to say that in numerous stays in the Orlando area, favorite memories include sitting out on a Comtemporary Tower View Balcony with my family, relaxing after a busy day, and watching the Electric Light Parade that I remembered seeing as a kid pack in the 70s when we used to camp at Fort Wilderness.

the only problem is the MK views. those toward the parking lot directly are consider MK views - even the first floor.

well you need to be higher than 7th floor (the floors are smaller at BLT than CR - no big space on 2, 3 or 4th floor) to really see more of the MK than the parking lot.

that is the only big complaint. nothing like paying for a Mk view and getting a parking lot.

the studios are tiny. Especially compared to the other DVC resorts. They are really too small for a family of 4. My opinion. A family of 3 it might work.

that say they took the room they do not spend on the studio and did use it for the 1-bedroom. these things are large - not quite as big as OKW - but definitely close enough. They sleep 5. and have 2 bathrooms in the 1-bedroom.

because the way the building curves some of the standard and lake view - get a MK view. the standard are because a service area is there.

the lake view is because you seem more lake than MK (I think)

the building is closed (send me a PM) - so it can be hard to get into w/o staying there.

If the money doesn't matter and you want a great pool to relax, then choose Contemporary. Although, check the Disney site for discount codes rumored to be released soon.

If you stay at Hilton does that mean the money you save can be used to buy park tickets?

If so, I would stay with Hilton and go to a park.

If I were you I would definitely pick Bonnet Creek and have another park day.

We have not stayed at Bonnet Creek, but have visited it and it's lovely. We have stayed in a Garden View room at the Contemporary and we won't do that again. We really did not like that garden building...it felt so old! Now if you were talking about a Contemporary Tower room, or a room at Bay Lake Tower, then it would be a harder choice. However in your case I think I would still go with Bonnet Creek and the park day.

We're leaning toward the Hilton and hit the parks for a day with the savings. We're spending a week in cocoa beach, going to daytona race and stopping by wdw just for 2 days so it's a extra thing. Plue ds really likes the pool. And if we're too tired to go to a park at least we get to see the fireworks from the room.

PromomX2 - Absolutely no question....stay at the BC Hilton for a two night stay.

To me it's value for money and we just returned from a 2 night stay at the Waldorf (DH stayed at the Hilton two weeks previous) We have stayed at the CR (tower room) The Hilton is new, it's beautiful, it's great, it's everything and then some and MUCH cheaper. Don't get me wrong, I love the Disney deluxes and have stayed at most of them, but dollar for dollar there is no comparison.

The only thing is there is no "Disney" at Bonnet Creek Hilton, except the views. Ask for a higher floor with a theme park view. You can see all 4 parks from there and Illuminations is so close, we could watch and even hear the music.

Since we have stayed at BC, I'd be hard presses to pay minimum $300 more for a low tier room at a deluxe, when I could stay elsewhere for much less.

If you want to save more money, you could bid for a resort on Priceline. You could get the very same Hilton for less than $100.
