Contacts and water parks

For those of you who wear contacts, what do you do about the water parks?

I very rarely go under water with my contacts in. It always feels like they're going to come out when I come back up and open my eyes. Now at a water park, I'm not into really "wild" rides, but I'll do the tamer things. Should I wear my contacts? Otherwise I would have to wear my prescription sunglasses (we're talking lazy river, maybe family raft ride, smooth tube rides, not glasses in the wave pool or anything).

Going with no contacts or glasses is out of the question, I would never find my family again, lol!!

I know what you mean! I'm so blind that my contacts are an inch thick! :goodvibes

Anyway, at Typhoon Lagoon, the floating river ride is no problem at all; we rode Gangplank, but that would be as wet as I would attempt with contacts. Wave Pool didn't cause trouble. Kali was no problem; Splash Mt. was no problem (didn't ride in front, though.)

I cannot emphasize enough to wear waterproof mascara (if you wear mascara). Sunglasses (nonprescription) do provide some barrier against getting water into your eyes, too.

Hope this helps. If you find out anything new when you go, please let us know.

I have always worn mine with no problems and have done about every type of ride that there is.

I wear mine. Just keep my eyes closed when I go under water. Sometimes I'll wear sunglasses, and sometimes I wear speedo swim goggles.

I have worn my contacts at both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. The only problem I had was the wave pool at TL and a lot of splashing. I did wear googles and that eliminated the problem. On the rides I was fine without googles.

I wear contacts all the time. I have never had a problem with them at the water parks. I have never lost my contacts in the water. When I come out from under the water, I am very careful when wiping my eyes, so I do not move the contact.

I wear contacts and feel as though I'll lose them when I get splashed or after going under water. At the waterparks, I do wear my contacts and a pair of sports sunglasses that are tight-fitting and provide coverage to the sides as well as the front of the eye. This has worked well for splashing and spraying water.

Know what you mean - I'm worried about knocking them out when I wipe my eyes. Like Jillybeanjo, I wore sunglasses (a fairly inexpensive pair w/ polarized lenses, not metal frames) and strapped them on. Went on all the water slides at BB except Summit Plummet and had no problems. This way I could keep my eyes open going down and didn't worry about splashing water knocking a contact out....
Have fun!
