Contacting Victoria & Alberts direct?

Hi all,

Well, not long to go now, and in amongst all the fun things I've managed to get booked for my new wife as a result of you lovely people on these boards and the other lovely people at Poly Concierge, I have an ADR for V&As on the 25th.

I understand it's common practice for the restaurant to contact the person who made the booking about a week in advance to confirm names of all parties present and also check on any dietary requirements and whether there are any special needs. All well and good, but...

From the 17th to the 24th we'll be enjoying the first part of our honeymoon in St. Lucia, which means I'll be unavailable on any of the contact numbers I've given Concierge. A while back I managed to procure a direct phone number to V&A (407-824-1089) but it keeps jumping to an answer machine where I can just confirm my reservation. And calling from the UK constantly ends up being not so cheap!

Is there another direct number I can call to speak to a human being rather than a machine? Or an email address? Or is it worth contacting Poly Concierge and getting them to send the details across instead?

Only a couple of days now until the wedding so I'd really like to get this sorted with the restaurant before it's too late!

TIA,

Ben

Actually that is the direct #, but the machine is on until about 4:00 PM (or so) Eastern U.S. time. After that there is someone there who will answer the phone. I actually spoke to a live person twice a few weeks ago when making our December V&A reservations.

Could he call the 800 number and be transferred?

I guess he could try...it is 1-800-828-0228

I hope that works. Please enjoy your dining experience at V&A's! My Dh and I dined there for the first time in May and we loved it!

I called 407-824-1893 and left a message. A woman by the name of Maureen (I think) got right back to me about proper spelling of both our names. I cannot wait! This is the only restaurant we have not dined at (with the exception of the food courts at any of the All-Stars LOL). We will be dining there on 7/25 as well. How about that! After reading all these posts, I think we will opt for the wine pairing. It sounds terrific.
