Has anyone had problems contacting Randy Chapman- not problems I emailed him about a deposit and have not heard from him, I did hear from him earlier in the week, but was nervous about booking...

go to chapmanphotography.com to get the phone number.

I would call him. Randy will be the first to tell you he's not the best at email.

We e-mailed Randy in the beginning of our planning, and he never got it. So we went to calling. A YEAR to the day, after we initially e-mailed him he responded to the e-mail, like he had just recieved it. Randy is a great guy, but don't go with e-mail CALL.

I'll second that...he's a great photographer and him and his wife are SUPER nice, but they are not real great on follow up. I'm still waiting for my 8x10s and 11x14s that I was supposed to have in time for xmas (in all fairness I haven't followed up b/c we have been too busy)

does he have assistance? or is he running strictly a husband and wife operation :) ?
I can't blame them for delays due to their busy schedules and dis board publicity...

As far as I know its just Randy and Linda.

I love Randy to death, and I love my wedding pictures, but he and Linda do both need to work on their customer service skills - both prior to and after the wedding.

Once you can get Randy on the phone he's great to talk to and will you give you his undivided attention. But getting him on the phone can be a quite a challenge.

I am glad that you guys have experience I started to think that maybe he did not want to do my pics. But I called him and then he emailed me his cell phone number. I hated to bother him on a Sunday so I will try him tomorrow at his studio. I do like email though b/c I can print out what they said. Thanks!

Just to support Randy, he just about always has his Mobile/Cell phone with him. If he can't answer, leave him a message and he will always get back to you.
As someone already mentioned, he is not so hot on the emailing and I think Linda tends to take care of most of that side of the business.

He is an amazingly laid back and approachable guy so if in doubt give him a call. I know he would never deliberately avoid his clients.

can anyone give more info about his album style?
can we pick the pictures and request editing? I read his style isn't about editing ...

would like to know that myself....did call him and lm and he got right back! It is just so much easier to email for my schedule.

I picked the pictures for my wedding album, but Randy didn't edit them at all. Most of them, that's not a problem, but some of them (like the one of me walking down the aisle) were at a minimum in bad need of cropping. You can see pictures of our album here. Overall, I was happy with my album, but as a photographer (totally non-professional, but I took 6 years of photography between HS and college) the obvious cropping issues were weird to me. If you want your photos cropped or edited in anyway, make sure you talk to Linda and Randy about them before hand!

Ah yes, your album was my only clue as to what kind of album Chapman does. Overall it looks great!
certainly have to check with them about selection and style before ordering their album.. we're trying to see if someone else can do albums alone but all seems outragously expensive :sad2:

I seem to have had the oposite experience with email. I have emailed him 3 and each times by the next day i have a reply from him. Email is also easier for me with the time difference as i tend to work late.

Does anyone know if he can edit/crop all your pics? and if so how much?
