I would like to send Disney a piece of my mind regarding a purchase that I made while I was there that ended up causing us a ton of difficulty when we got home! Anyone have a phone number or an email address that I can use?
Thanks in advance!
Wendy

They left the security tag on the hat that we bought my father-in-law and they just spend hours trying to find someone to remove it for them!

Any time we have had a problem we just call the number on the receipt. They have always been very helpful and prompt to make things right! Good Luck!

We have those tags where I work and they are a pain. Sometimes we do goof and miss taking one off. We are human. I'm not sure what you hope to accomplish by "giving someone a piece of your mind." I'm sure it wasn't done with the intention of making your life difficult.

I used to work at The Disney Store and we had several guests come in with the same issue...coming back with merchandise that still had the security tag on it because a CM never took it off. All I can say about TDS...don't try to get it removed there, they don't have the mechanism that matches with the park security tags. I know many of our guests have had no problem going to other stores that had similar security tags and getting them removed there...but I HIGHLY encourage you to bring your receipt so that the store doesn't think you stole the item and now you're trying to get the tag removed. There was a store in our mall who always helped our guests with it as long as they had a receipt.

Word to the wise for all travelers, make sure you ALWAYS check your items for those security tags before you depart to avoid any hassle.

I work at a Disneystore and we sometimes get guest that haave the security sensors on from Disneyworld. We send them to JCPenney's to remove them or the the store called, "Express" (it's a clothing store). They will be happy to take it off for you.

JCPenny's helped my inlaws with this problem!
Thanks for the assistance!
Guess I should have posted before they went to the Disney Store trying to get it taken off!

Yes and if you did call and explaine or do the e-mail they would have most likely just sent you a new hat.

We ordered a large figure statue for DD had it shipped home and it arrived broke .They have none in stock now but will send it out as soon as they hit .

Disney has the best return policy I've ever came across in all of my shopping and I can shop with the best of them.

I glad it did get resolved we had the same problem with a purse at WoD but we just took it to the resort store and they removed it for us .

I'm glad the problem was resolved. It always feels a little better to vent (mildly) on these boards! Plus get good ideas on how to deal with the problem! :thumbsup2 Also the rest of us will try to remember to check that the security thingies are off when we visit WDW stores!

Just curious - didn't anything RING when you went out of the store ... makes you wonder if the security system is on??? I had this happen once in a regular store ... funny thing though ... I set off the system when I left the store (security thingiee still on vest I bought) -- and yet no one came to see what was making it ring! I realized what it was and went back into the store myself to have it taken off. Weird!

Disney uses Tamper tags for most things rather then the security tags.

Tamper tags when tampered with leak a very staining ink thats next to imposible to get out.

We bought something for some Outlets about 2 hrs away that we visit about once a year .So I did have to get it off my self and did but boy was I nervous. When i called and explained what happened they told me if I wanted I could find another store or try to get it off myself if not I could return the item and they would replace it .

Often in World Of Disney, the CMs get busy ringing up items and sometimes forget to take off the tamper tags. There are always so busy in that store. I am very careful to watch that the tags are removed. If they forget one, I politely remind them that the tag needs to be removed.

OP, I'm sorry you went through so much trouble, but the CMs are human and they do make mistakes. I realize that you are angry, but maybe you should take a day or two to cool off before making your phone call. I'm not sure what you expect Disney to do. They could reprimand or fire the CM, but I'm sure it wasn't intentional. JMHO.
