Does anyone have a type of contact that they just love? I've worn contacts since I was in 2nd grade (so for a LONG time!) but lately I've been having issues with them being comfortable.

My last prescription was for BioFinity, which I wasn't crazy about. I went to the optometrist last week and she gave me a trial of Acuvue Oasys lenses, which people really seem to like, but they just don't feel comfortable...I always feel like there's something in my eye.

So I go back tomorrow for a follow up, and I was hoping to get some ideas of brands I could try.

Thanks!

I wear Night & Day brand contacts - they are designed to be slept in, then cleaned with a special enzyme cleaner. Because they are designed to be slept in, they let a lot more oxygen into your eyes - makes them more comfortable for me, even though I usually don't sleep in them.

For me the key to having any contact be comfortable is cleaning with an enzyme cleaner (like Clear Care - you put the contacts in the stand-up case thingy, and it foams). It seems to remove all the protein and debris a lot better. I find when I just put my contacts in regular solution overnight, my tolerance for wearing them goes WAY down.

Good luck!

My eye doctor also has me wear contacts designed to be slept in, but not actually sleep in them.

I wear daily disposables. Ciba Vision Dailies AquaComfort Plus. I love them. They are comfortable and you don't even have to clean them, you put a new pair in every day. :)

Thank you for the recommendation of Clear Care. I will buy that for my DS. Both he and DD have Oasys. DD has no problem with hers but DS complains about his all the time. Maybe a new cleaner will help.

When I wore contacts, I wore various types of Acuvue lenses and never had a problem with any of them and I was not the case study for taking care of lenses properly. Thank heaven for lasik!

I was put into ProClear...which I must say while they are comfortable and clear, they tear SUPER easy...sometimes while IN YOUR EYE! They are supposed to be monthly, but I was going through sometimes 2 contacts in a week.

When I go back this year, I am gonna look for something else...My eyes are very sensitive when it comes to contacts..

As for cleaner, I have started using BioTrue...love that stuff:yay:

The cleaner is kind of pricey (about $8-9 a bottle), but I couldn't wear my contacts without it. Just make sure you use it properly, it is NOT used like regular contact solution. Put your contacts in the special cleaning case provided with the Clear Care (not in a normal contact case!), and they have to sit overnight to let the solution neutralize. Then rinse very well with saline before putting them in.

Just DO NOT put your contacts after they have touched the solution unless they have sat overnight in the special cleaning case. :scared1: That stuff is like battery acid in your eyes. Sooo painful. I'd think with regular contacts, you could get away cleaning them with this stuff every other night or so.

Did you have good results with Lasik? I would loooove to get it, but it's always scary messing with your eyes and vision.

I loved having my eyes done. I had to wear my glasses in the shower to see my legs to shave them before the surgery. The day after, I was seeing 20/10. My eyes settled at 20/15.

DH's eyes weren't as bad as mine and his results are similar.

It was scary for both of us, but thankfully, everything turned out ok.

I use PureVision contacts. They're spendy but I seem to be allergic to the cheaper contacts :headache:

I also use Clear Care solution.

I wear 1 day Acuvue Moist and I love them. I can wear them for 20 hrs straights and not notice I still have them in. I do take them out before I go to sleep.

I've been using Acuvue 2 for quite a while now, they have been the best thing I've ever used.
